DC UNIVERSE Month 73, Part 1

ACTION COMICS #1062 by Jason Aaron and John Timms. In metropolis, everyone in the city, including Superman and Lois, has been turned into Bizarros and the city is in chaos. Superman continues to fight to get Bizarro out of his head and temporarily succeeds, but is unable to break the hold Bizarro has on the citizens. Batman arrives, telling Superman that Doctor fate has been turned and Zatanna and Xanadu are keeping him subdued. Constantine and Blue Devil are trying to find a way to use magic top counteract this. In the end, Superman turns to the only person he thinks can help him make sense of this…The Joker..

AMAZONS ATTACK #5 by Josie Campbell and Vasco Georgiev. Peacemaker and his team has captured Nubia and he observes Faruka reaching behind her back. Thinking it is a weapon, he has her men search her and they discover it is a bag of carrots. They toss the bag away and it gets eaten by Hoppy who begins transporting the Amazons, and Peacemaker, across the country. In Santa Fe, a young boy, fearing his sister is in danger from the Amazons, shoots Nubia. Hoppy transports the Amazons away and Faruka patches up her queen. While Nubia talks about  the journey she went on after emerging from the Well of Souls, Faruka attacks her and knocks her out. When she wakes, she sees that Mary Marvel has also been captured and Faruka and most of the other Amazons are possessed and responsible, welcoming them to Asylum.

BATMAN #142 by Chip Zdarsky, Giuseppe Camuncoli, and Andrea Sorrentino. The Joker Year One Part 1. In the past, The Joker, not long after he transitions into the villain, visits Sally, telling her he looks like he does because of what he did for her. Six months later, a broke Joker puts on makeup and goes out in public where, after winning a bar fight, he meets with Red Hood gang member 22. Another former member calls Number 2, who is revealed to be crooked cop Manny Gabria. The Joker sees Batman patrolling Gotham and has a mental break until he is met by someone who trained batman and promises to train him too. In the present, The Joker strikes again and has turned everyone in Gotham into Jokers.

BATMAN #143 by Chip Zdarsky, Giuseppe Camuncoli, and Andrea Sorrentino. The Joker Year One Part 2. In the past, Batman experiments on a dead body, injecting the corpse with chemicals found at the crime scene. The chemicals turn the body white, just like The Joker. Officer Blair, now in custody, refuses to answer questions but Manny Gabria meets with him and Blair gets free, leading the Gabria killing him. Jim Gordon strikes Gabria, leading to Commissioner McLeod to suspend Gordon. The Joker meets with the man who trained Bruce, as revealed in BATMAN: THE KNIGHT, who is convinced he can gain his revenge by telling The Joker everything he needs to defeat the Dark Knight. After long training sessions, The Joker refers to him as being the father to both himself and The Batman and kills him. In the present, Batman meets with The Joker and then meets with Selina, who has covered her ears to keep from being infected by The Joker’s attack. She has secured the rest of the Bat Family, who are all infected. But The Joker shows up and removes her hearing protection, infecting her..

BATMAN #144 by Chip Zdarsky, Giuseppe Camuncoli, and Andrea Sorrentino. The Joker Year One Part 3. In the past, the red Hood Gang is still causing havoc and Jim Gordon lets Batman know about corrupt cop Manny Gabria. Manny unleashes his plan at GCPD, but a clown from a kid’s party reveals himself to be The Joker. While Gordon battles Manny, the Red Hood Gang take their spoils and flee. But there is a Joker bomb in their heist, turning them all into Jokers and killing them. Manny is apprehended but is later killed by The Joker. In the present, the Batman family has been corrupted and turned into Jokers. The Joker confronts Batman and gives him a laughing bag with high pitched sonics that brings bats to the battle. The sonic cry of the bats cures the victims. Later, the police find former police commissioner McLeod, who was once the leader of the Red Hood Gang, and it is revealed that he was Patient Zero.

BATMAN AND ROBIN #6 by Joshua Williamson and Nikola Cizmesija. Zach, wearing a homemade costume, attempts to break Zsasz out of his prison transport. Zsasz takes Zach hostage, allowing Robin to get the drop on him. Zach tries to intervene, telling Robin to leave his father alone. Zsasz laughs, claiming Zach is not his son. And this allows Batman to knock the villain out. Robin notes that Zach was obviously trained by someone and he thinks he knows who that is. With Zach out of the school, Damian now becomes part of the soccer team, telling the coach, who he believes is Shush, that he will be watching her. Later that night, the Dynamic Duo show up for a meeting of followers who think Man-Bat is their hero. Someone shows up to help Batman and Robin and that turns out to be Flatline.

BATMAN/SUPERMAN: WORLD’S FINEST #24 by Mark Waid and Dan Mora. Darkseid has arrived and the heroes of Earth-22 attack him, but are defeated, with many of them killed. David kills Gog, which defeats Darkseid’s plan and he leaves. But Superman and Batman tell David he is not the hero here and has crossed a line. David heads away and The Spectre arrives, revealing David’s future, which is the story of KINGDOM COME. In a time beyond that, Superman visits a grieving David, convincing him to put together a new superhero team.

BATMAN: THE BRAVE AND THE BOLD #10 by Karl Kerschl, Delilah S. Dawson, Matt Harding, Torunn Gronbekk, Dan Watters, Serg Acuna, George Kambadais, Mike Henderson, Tom Derenick, and Ricardo Lopez Ortix. Batman delivers a girl named Olive to Gotham Academy and then begins dating Professor Isla McPherson. While on a date, a woman named Anastasia is assaulted, leaving bite holes in her neck. Batman meets with Professor Langstrom, who tells him of a student named Tristan who is in full transformation. Batman enlists the aid of Mia Mizoguchi, because Tristen is a classmate and a friend. Dressed as Robin, Mia meets with Tristan, who begs for her to leave before he attacks her. In the second story, Artemis deals with guilt after allowing her queen to be murdered. During her soul searching, she is bitten by a snake and realizes that Amazons are not invulnerable to poison. In the third tale, one of Joker’s men is dying because of his repeated exposure to Joker Gas, so he goes on a crime spree, eventually fighting The Signal. Using a variety of weapons stolen from other villains, he declares himself the Nameless and sets his venomized dog of The Signal. The Signal saves the dog and defeats nameless, who bites down on a capsule of Joker gas and kills himself. In the fourth tale, Lois investigates the death of an old school friend who was part of a treasure hunt group that accidentally exposed a Congressman’s improprieties. In the final story, Batman, sticking to the healthiest of diets, encounters Clayface at a burger restaurant. In the end, Batman breaks training and enjoys a cheeseburger.

BIRDS OF PREY #6 .by Kelly Thompson and Leonardo Romero. Sin has been corrupted by Megaera and Zealot, seeing the problem, stabs Sin forcing Megaera to flee. Sin threatens to kill herself to keep Megaera from getting loose on the world. The Birds crack open the urn and that sucks in Megaera’s tendrils, but not Sin, after Megaera agrees to let Sin stay in control. Megaera tells the Birds that she does not want to conquer the world, just live in it. Sin agrees to stay on the island for everyone’s safety and the rest of the Birds return home. Later, Maps meets with Dinah and shows her that, no matter how many times they would have tried another way, Barbara and Sin would have died. Cass later visits and Dinah decides it is time to put a new team together.

BLUE BEETLE #6 5 by Josh Trujillo and Adrian Gutierrez. Jaime and his friends face off against Kha-Ef-Re and his followers. After a lengthy fight, Jaime must face his friend Javier alone, with Javier finally telling Jaime to kill him, which Khaji  does when Jaime’s body is taken over by the scarab. As Jaime mourns what has happened, tachyon interference is detected and Jaime disappears, leaving his friends confused.

CATWOMAN #62 by Tini Howard and Carmine Di Giandomenico. Long ago, Catwoman is involved in a heist that brings her directly into contact with Amanda Waller. To save her own life, she agrees to do just one mission for Waller to wipe the slate clean. Today, Selina is in Cairo with a new version of the Suicide Squad, where they are tasked to steal the Beard of Hatshepsut from under Black Adam’s nose. In the process, Selina has a vision where she meets with Bastet, who tells her to say the magic word and the ethereal cats will come. They secure the Beard and Jeanette uses her magic powers to get the team out of trouble. Later, Selina meets with Waller who betrays her and goes to activate the bomb inside Selina’s head. Selina uses the magic word SHAZAM and leaves..

DETECTIVE COMICS #1082 by Ram V, Dan Watters, Christopher Mitten, Riccardo Federici, and Stefano Raffaele. Following his hanging, Batman battles with his inner demons in a hellish version of Gotham. Talia’s men find someone, possibly Bruce, dying in the desert. But who is the man with the knife watching over them? In the second part of The Question’s story, she comes face to face with Cassandra while she is fighting the Orghams. They capture one of the paramilitary men, who reveals that everything seems to lead back to Shavhod Erhad.. In the backup, many people are invited to Dr. Hurt’s Semi Centennial Masked Macabre. All have been affected by Hurt and most are looking for revenge. James and Selma become the last to alive in what appears to be a mass murder/suicide. As it turns out, Selma is actually Dr. Hurt., whose brain patterns were overwritten by his.

FIRE & ICE: WELCOME TO SMALLVILLE #6 by Joanne Starer and Natacha Bustos. Rocky is possessed and causing havoc in Smallville while Martha is being menaced by Crave. Martha gets free but rave corrupts the child with her. Still, she makes her way to town where l-Ron has been able to almost free Rocky by removing the mask. Crave arrives and Linka manages to use her psychic powers to free everyone from Crave’s influence. In the end, Fire and Ice leave Smallville, with Bea suggesting they build a place called new Kooey where the caves are. She even suggest starting a new League.

THE FLASH #6 by Si Spurrier and Mike Deodato Jr. Wally takes Linda on an “activity date” to London, but the city is being invaded by things from the Blobsphere. Barry joins in to help but The Stillness arrives to, along with the Uncoiled. The Stillness gives Wally the means to stop the Uncoiled. And, after doing that, jai arrives saying he needs help. Back in Central City he finds everyone frozen in stasis, including his daughter, and they are surrounded by ghosts. After The Stillness arrives again, refusing to explain what is happening, Barry and Wally head into the Speed Force, where Barry tells Wally that he is a poor replacement and that all of this is his fault. Then he stabs Wally. In the end, mysterious vices say that Flash will soon be responsible for a virus called the Cornoa Contrarium.-the Crown of Thawnes.

GREEN ARROW #9 by Joshua Williamson and Sean Izaakse. Peacemaker and Peacewrecker are in the process of directing a team .to move everything out of the former Hall of Justice and into a secure location. Of course, that is being supervised by both Amanda Waller and Bones. Peacemaker marvels at all the security in the building and anyone would be foolish to try and break in. That foolish person is Ollie. He gets caught and Waller offers him a deal to get Roy out from under her control: steal Sanctuary. Meanwhile, Connor heads to Corto Maltese and meets with Diggle, offering a chance for him to take down Malcom Merlyn.

GREEN LANTERN #8 by Jeremy Adams, Ron Marz, Amanxay Nahuelpan, and Dale Eaglesham. Hal learns from Razer how the Blue Central Power Battery on Odym was destroyed, along with those on Ysmault and New Korugar. Hal tries numerous times to gain the will power to leave the atmosphere but fails each time. Carol visits, with Hal saying he would stay if she asks him too. She leaves without an answer and Razer and Hal go to visit Madame Xanadu. While she tries to figure out why Hal cannot leave when they are attacked by United Planets Lanterns, who kidnap Razer. Xanadu tells Hal to go find the Green and that takes him to Galacia, where he feels the power. In the backup, Kyle talks with his deceased girlfriend Alex, explaining why he loves being a lantern. Soujourner visits him and tells him she thinks she knows what is going on with the United Planet’s Lantern takeover and he agrees to join up with her to help.

GREEN LANTERN: WAR JOURNAL #6 by Phillip Kennedy Johnson and Montos. John, Kyle and Shepherd continue to battle Varron, the Radiant Dead, and the Revenant Queen, with Stewart using one of his constructs to defeat Varron. Katanak is grabbed by the Queen and, knowing he will die, cuts off his hand, allowing his ring to find a replacement. Shepherd becomes infected and john gets him to use his will to defeat the infection. The Queen grabs hold of Stewart, after revealing her name is Olgrun of the First World(last seen during the Superman Warworld saga), and tosses him back to Earth. On Earth, although she is a construct, his sister tells her mother that she thinks it will be a while before John comes home.

DC Universe Month 72, Part 2

JAY GARRICK: THE FLASH #4 by Jeremy Adams and Diego Olortegui. Jay and his daughter go to S.T.A.R. Labs to see Slate, who reveals that Professor Hughes was the person who was the silent partner who had the money and plans to start S.T.A.R. Labs. It is revealed that Hughes was inspired to begin his experiments after seeing footage of the original Green Lantern on television. With numerous failures at hand, he begins looking for possible candidates in the student population at Midwestern University, ultimately deciding to make Jay Garrick his guinea pig. Hughes purposely caused a table filled with chemicals to fall upon Garrick, transforming him, but not before taking a sample of blood from him. While Jay recuperated, Hughes questioned Garrick’s doctor, learning of the speed powers, before killing the doctor. Over time, with multiple failures, Hughes develops his own lab and creations. What he learns over time is that Judy also possessed the metagene needed but, before he could act, she was spirited away, leaving her parents with no memory of her. S.T.A.R. Labs was created to act as a front for Hughes’ experiments. Slate reveals where Hughes currently is, just as his secretary enters and begins shooting.

JUSTICE LEAGUE VS. GODZILLA VS. KONG #4 by Brian Buccellato and Christian Duce. Atom smasher has been critically injured and Superman is dead. Despite the obvious lack of life signs, the heroes are treating Clark with a solar array to attempt to regenerate the cells in his body. Batman deduces that the Dreamstone is missing from the Fortress of Solitude and that is how Toyman brought the creatures back. On Skull Island, Supergirl is having a staredown with Kong, but then leaves as she hears about her cousin’s condition, leaving Ollie alone with the ape. That is when the League of Assassins shows up and attacks him. Kong attacks the League, allowing Ollie a chance to escape. He ends up on a ship and discovers a giant monster skull on board. Lois arrives at the Fortress and visits  with her comatose husband, showing him the engagement ring she found in his jacket and imploring him to get better so she can wear that ring. The heroes leave to help Auquaman in his undersea fight and Lois observes security footage, seeing Toyman with the Dreamstone and telling the heroes to look for the red stone.  While Luthor has now secured the beacon, the heroes fight an undersea creature when Godzilla arrives to fight the monster. Aquaman makes a bold move and releases the Kraken to hopefully stop the creatures.

KNEEL BEFORE ZOD #1 by Joe Casey and Dan McDaid. On New Kandor, Dru-Zod is tormented and teased by Jor-el, which turns out to be only an illusion. Later, while meeting with his wife ursa, it is revealed that the Forbidden Sector has been breached. Zod goes there to find it is his son who has breached the sector, who accuses his father for plotting for a war by his father building an ultimate weapon. Father strikes son and the two battle with Zod winning and demanding his son leave New Kandor, which he does. A month later, New Kandor is attacked by Khunds, who he defeats. In the end, Zod meets with the Council who have heard of open hostilities in his sector. He tells them it is inaccurate. In actuality, Zod continues his plan and had a Khund captive he is torturing for information.

NIGHTWING #110 by Tom Taylor and Sam Basri. On the first day of Beast World, a tattooed woman calling herself Apex Ava kills a spore and then eats it, transforming her. Later, Jon and Nightwing go to the Iceberg Lounge, as Jon can hear Damian’s heartbeat. What they discover is that there is a fight club where the transformed civilians battle each other. Damian, transformed and now known as Mr. Mittens, has to fight Gail the Slayer, with Damian turning loose on her, with Ava imploring him to tear her throat out. That is when Jon and Dick intervene. The spore exits Gail’s mouth and Dick kills it. They take Damian away and, as the spore goes to leave, Jon destroys it with his heat vision. Damian and Dick head back to the arena and confront Ava, who turns into a bird and flies away. Until a cure can be found, zoologists are tasked to care for the infected.

OUTSIDERS #3 by Jackson Lanzing, Collin Kelly, and Robert Carey. Luke and Kate head through a “magic door” and it takes them to a twisted version of Wayne Manor, where they find multiple versions of both Batman and Batwoman. One of the Batmen arrives, determined to kill the others. Luke learns that this new Batman is Duke Thomas. Duke has seen what will come and is determined to stop it. Batwoman save Luke and, after inspiration from the other Batman variants, they rejoin Drummer and exit The Bleed. In the end, Batwoman has visions of bats.

THE PENGUIN #6 by Tom King and Stevan Subic. In a tale set in the past, Oswald Cobblepot is working as a bartender in the Iceberg lounge, which gives him access to many of Gotham’s underworld, whose intimate plans he eagerly gives to Batman. He also is dealing with his foster mother, who seemingly could care less about him. he turns on Falcone, allowing Batman to apprehend him. In the process he gains ownership of the Iceberg Lounge. Finding himself at the top of the world, he pushes his mother off the top of their apartment building.

POISON IVY #18 by G. Willow Wilson and Luanna Vecchio. Ivy, Croc and Grundy team up to fight the zombies, which they defeat. Later, as she considers how to defeat this plague, Batman arrives and he and Ivy talk, with her telling him about the potential zombie outbreak. He accepts the vial of her antidote. As he leaves, she is wracked by pain and something moving in her stomach. Janet from HR arrives bringing donuts. As ivy continues to work, she again is struck with intense pain and is suddenly split open in her midsection as Jason Woodrue bursts forth from her.

POWER GIRL #5 by Leah Williams and David Baldeon. It’s a cat’s tale as Squeaky saves a group of captured small animals that are being used for testing. In the end, Supergirl visits Power Girl and suggests they team-up..

SHAZAM #7 by Mark Waid and Gordon Sudzuka. The captain battles Bizarro Captain. He defeats him and discovers that Bizarro captain is a creation of Felix Faust, who is discovered robbing a bank vault. Meanwhile, in Kahdaq, Black Adam confronts the space dinosaurs who have come looking for their missing companion. They find where the Batson home is and fire a missile to distract Black Adam. Back in Fawcett City, Billy finds that the foster parents have purchased them a new home. Tawny calls Billy and tells him the dinosaurs have arrived here. He transforms into the Captain and confronts them. But Adam also arrives and attacks the dinosaurs. Billy begs him to leave and Adam insults Billy’s foster parents, leading the them brawling throughout the new home. When Billy finally gets him to stop, they realize they have destroyed the new home.

SPEED FORCE #3 by Jarrett Williams and Daniele Di Nicuolo. Ava and Roundhouse are training with Mr. terrific while Wallace and Jaime  are getting their hair cut. Later, Superboy and Wallace attack Music Meister and Mas Y Menos, but Music Meister manages to corrupt Superboy, who now may find himself joining Mas Y Menos.

SUPERMAN #10 by Joshua Williamson and Bruno Redondo. Superman and Marilyn Moonlight are in the Western past where Superman and Marilyn comes face-to-face with Terra-Man, who took his time machine to the past. While Superman confronts him, Marilyn notices a woman and she notices her too. Terra-Man, believing Superman to be powerless, challenges him to a gunfight, where he shoots Superman who, to his surprise, is uninjured. When Terra-Man attempts to leave, he is captured by Marilyn. She reveals that she is the woman who saw her in town and that inspired her to become Marilyn Moonlight. After she died, someone resurrected her and turned her into a ghost, and will stay that way until she finds who did this to her. As they talk, Superman uses the time machine to bring them back to the present. He heads back to Supercorp only to be attacked and subdued by the Lex Luthor Revenge Squad, who tells him to join them or watch Metropolis fall.

TITANS #7 by Tom Taylor and Travis Moore. Cyborg and Raven search for Garth below Titans Tower while Starfire battles Xand’R, who was masquerading as Brother Eternity. He was responsible for allowing Starfire’s parents to be killed, in exchange for the Dominators giving him the last pieces of the Necrostar, which he took to Earth. He has a spore go into Cyborg, but he cannot be turned because he is only half human. A transformed Nightwing attacks Barbara and Wally and garth arrives to join the attack against his teammates. Garth undergoes flash dehydration and that causes the spore to leave him and be destroyed. With Garth restored and Xand’R defeated, Starfire chokes Nightwing, forcing the spore out into her mouth, where she chews it and kills it.  Later, Starfire sends Xand’R to the Phantom Zone, before the team goes out to help save the world.

TITANS: BEAST WORLD #4 by Tom Taylor and Lucas Meyer. Peacemaker, after killing  Chester Runk’s transformed son, kidnaps him for Amanda Waller’s devious purposes. In Ivy Town, Giganta gets transformed by one of the Starro creatures and she begins to destroy the town. Leading the Titans to band together with Jon Kent and Swamp Thing to both stop her and save her. Of course, Sgt. Steel becomes the face of the government, claiming that if the Titans won’t save the Earth, he and his people will. Nightwing agrees that the Titans will do everything they can to save Gar. Meanwhile, Waller and Peacemaker meet with Luthor and use his Justice League teleporter to send Runk into space where he finds himself inside Garro. Runk’s power is a internal Black Hole and that kills both him and, apparently, Gar.

TITANS: BEAST WORLD #5 by Tom Taylor Ivan Reis, and Eduardo Pansica. Gar is dead, apparently, and now the Titans not only mourn but must find out who is ultimately responsible. The official stance, led by Amanda Waller, is that the Titans are responsible, Chester Runk is a hero, and she is going to unleash an attack to target those people who have been corrupted by the spores, meaning the death of a potential million people. Raven consults with Donna Troy, telling her she is torn about what to do, but that she is tempted to release the demon side of her within her gem. Raven, Nightwing and Flash head to the Bureau of Sovereignty to stop the mass executions. Nightwing confronts Waller and Peacemaker, defeating Peacemaker and discovering that Waller has already launched the drones. This leads to Cyborg hacking into the military’s system and that the government is no longer in control of the drones. That makes Waller smile as she knows this will not sit well with the public. Raven arrives and attacks Waller but she is saved by Doctor Hate, who reveals herself as Raven’s demon side..

TITANS: BEAST WORLD #6 by Tom Taylor, Ivan Reis, Lucas Meyer, and Eduardo Pansica. Raven finds herself face to face with Doctor Hate, who is the evil side of herself. She sends Nightwing back to Titans Tower so she can find herself. Dick says he knows the spores are attracted to the most powerful people, so he reaches out to Jon Kent, who is able to finally free Batman from his spore. The gathered heroes proceed to go out and stop the planned assault on the infected, using their abilities to free the infected. Along the way, they discover that Gar’s consciousness is in the spores, even though they have been eliminating them. To get him back to something resembling what he once was, they now have to capture the spores and not kill them. Starfire joins Raven’s fight against her evil self, with Flash stealing Doctor hate’s helm, which allows Raven to fight back and contain her evil self in the gem. They take the captured spores and are able to rebuild Gar, but he is only a physical body with half-memories. The heroes go to the Boomerang Nebula and retrieve the biggest piece of the creature and manage to combine the piece with Gar, restoring his mind. Amanda Waller tells the world that the Titans are not heroes and renames the Hall of Justic as the Hall of Order. In the end, it is revealed that Raven lost to her evil self and the real Raven is trapped in the gem.

TITANS: BEAST WORLD ATLANTIS #1 by Sina Grace, Frank Tieri, Meghan Fitzmartin, Riccardo Federici,  Valentine De Lando, and M.L. Sanapo. Aquaman, garth and Tula battle the sea creatures that have been affected by the spores. In the spores, a spore ends up in Arthur and he is transformed, forcing them to lock him up until they can save him. In the second tale, police in Amnesty Bay find a dead body and then the mayor, who refuses to close the beach, it attacked by a mutated stingray, cutting him in half. Captain Boomerang, Vixen and Deadeye arrive and go off to find the creature, which turns out to be a transformed Black Manta. Deadeye gets inside and removes the spore, saving Manta. While Deadeye and Vixen talk with Manta, Boomerang calls Waller and informs her of Deadeye’s plan to put a team together. When she hangs up, she admits she is responsible for all of this and now a captured Dolphin  is infected by a spore. In the final tale, Jackson and Mera go off to save some of the underwater creatures. But Mera is infected by a spore and immediately goes after her daughter. Andy uses her powers to repel her mother, who flees into the ocean.

TITANS: BEAST WORLD STAR CITY #1 by Joshua Williamson, Ryan Parrott, Robert Venditti, Brandt, Jamal Campbell, Roger Cruz, Gavin Guidry, and Stein. Connor and Ollie are trying to deal with the Beast World situation, which brings them face to face with the Resurrection Twins. Ollie gets captured, meaning it is up to Connor to save his father. Connor rescues his father and they team up to capture the infected. In the second story, Red Canary and Black Canary team up to fight the people infected by the spores. In the process, Dinah is infected, turning into a giant canary. In the third story, Jay Garrick and Alan Scott have been infected, leading to Stargirl and Huntress teaming up with Red Arrow to battle them. Together they capture their friends.

WESLEY DODDS: THE SANDMAN #4 by Robert Venditti and Riley Rossimo. Wesley experiences nightmares of the past, present, and future after being exposed to his own gas. When he eventually comes out of the nightmare, he believes that Colonel Breckinridge is the boss responsible for setting things into motion and he goes to visit Wheeler Vanderlyle, only to find him being assaulted by the man who attacked him at his home. The two fight and the man falls through a window to the street below. With his journal now gone, he believes it has ended up with the military and that means he could face treason charges.

WONDER WOMAN #5 by Tom King, Daniel Sampere, and Belen Ortega. Sergeant Steel goes out to recruit villains to help him kill Wonder Woman, bring Giganta, Circe, Dr. Psycho, Grail, Silver Swan, and Angle Man. Meanwhile, Diana has a series of skill tests with her fellow Amazons, Wonder Girl, Yara, and Donna Troy, telling them if she defeats each of them, they must swear to not interfere in Diana’s forthcoming fight. In the end, despite all of them being defeated, they all refuse to stay on the sidelines. In the backup, Lizzie, Jon and Damian engage in a kangaroo race on Themyscira, with her winning. She declares the three of them represent a new generation of heroes, that gets referred to as ‘Gen-S’.

 

DC Universe Month 72, Part 1

ACTION COMICS #1061 by Jason Aaron and John Timms. Bizarro goes to the Sorcerer’s World, battling them and absorbing their magic and killing the sorcerers in the process. Six weeks later and Bizarro has made his way to Earth and battles Superman. Bizarro has a number of magic artifacts and that is powering him, when he goes to use the last one, he finds himself dragged into a portal and he disintegrates inside of it. Even with Bizarro dead and gone, Superman still hears his voice in his head. Maybe that is because Bizarro is now within everyone.

ALAN SCOTT: THE GREEN LANTERN #4 by Tim Sheridan and Cian Tormey. Alan’s former lover, now revealed to be the Red Lantern, tells his story. In 1923, Johnny, who reveals he is actually Russian and his name is Vlad, joins the Russian military, where he began researching the Crimson Flame of Death. He gets assigned to infiltrate the U.S. Army, to become friends with Alan Scott and find a way to get the Crimson Flame, which the government had. The two becomes lovers and Vlad finds a way to access Project Crimson. During that moment with the pair on the ship, Vlad is captured by the Crimson Flame and dies. However he is filled with the power of the Crimson Flame and is saved by the Russian navy. During his recovery, the Russian government crafts a ring and give it to him, along with a lantern. In the present, he finds the ring he had given to Alan, revealing that Alan should have known that Johnny’s story was false, telling him how Florida State did not have a baseball team. Alan attacks and the two fight but, during the fight, Alan touches memories of the two of them together, giving him time to use the Red Power battery to recharge himself, giving him the Red Lantern’s powers.

AMAZONS ATTACK #4 by Josie Campbell and Vasco Georgiev. Themyscira is in flames and Nubia finds Io there. Nubia is confused as she sees Hippolyta and Io facinf Herakles army.. Meanwhile, Yara meets with Cassie at a safe house in Brazil, learning that all the Amazon safe houses are deserted and the words ASYLUM painted on all of them. They get attacked by A.X.E. troopers and flee. They head to Belle Reve, where Mary Marvel is battling with Count vertigo, who has been tasked with killing Mary by Amanda Waller. In the Garden of Hesperides, Faruka  realizes that they have a traitor in their midst and that person was responsible for Eris’ death. That is when Peacekeeper and A.Z.E. arrive, telling Faruka to surrender or he will execute Nubia.

BATMAN #141 by Chip Zdarsky, Dustin Nguyen, and Jorge Jimenez. In the past, Zur-En-Arrh creates Failsafe. In the present, Batman confronts Failsafe, who has declared himself the new Batman. Knowing he cannot defeat him, being that he is controlled by Zur, Batman flees. Meanwhile, Dick meets with Lucie, who explains that she was take by The Joker. Batman flees to a safe house but, when Failsafe catches up to him, he defeats Batman, who later wakes in a prison cell with The Joker, who promises to tell Bruce how he is involved with all of this. In the backup, Zur-En-Arrh makes his way into the mind of Failsafe, where he meets and battles other Batmen, finally promising to unite them and they will help him free the world.

BATMAN AND ROBIN #5 by Joshua Williamson and Nikola Cizmesija. Bruce Wayne is serving breakfast to students at Jason’s school, following a night working together to stop Orca. During the day, Damian is observing his principal, who he believes is Shush. Bruce meets with Damian’s Biology teacher, Ms. Heather Hall, who tells Wayne that Damian should consider getting started on college courses now. Damian’s chief rival at school is a student named Zach Shea. Later, Batman and Robin observe Zach and discover that he is Victor Zsasz’s son.

BATMAN AND ROBIN 2024 ANNUAL by Joshua Williamson and Howard Porter. Bruce and Damian go on a road trip, ending up at a gas station where Damian sees a collection of posters showing people who have gone missing. They set up at the Full Moon Campground and Damian finds several of the corpses of the missing people. They soon discover they are being detained by a force field. That is because Roulette is hosting a high-priced hunting party and the Waynes are the prey. Among those hunters are Bloodsport. The Waynes have no real weapons, so they have to rely on their wits to save themselves. The pair manage to defeat all of the hunters and capture Roulette.

BATMAN: OFF WORLD #3 by Jason Aaron and Doug Mahnke. Nyreek meets with Akkari, looking for batman, who has been off training with the barbed wolves. The pair, along with the wolf, leave the planet, in search of their previous captors. Along the way, Batman creates a new armored suit and also crafts weapons while Nyreek tries to seduce him. They pass through a space hurricane and Batman attacks, eventually coming face-to-face with the alien who defeated him on Earth and also tormented him in space. Using the skills he has learned, Batman defeats him, telling Nyreek he needs to know about the Blakksun Mining Company. Elsewhere, the Blakksun Twins prepare for Batman’s potential arrival.

BATMAN/SUPERMAN: WORLD’S FINEST #23 by Mark Waid and Dan Mora. The heroes of two worlds team up, with the Batmen fighting with David, who is now Magog, and the Supermen battling Gog. Gog tells them that his upcoming war with Apokolips is so his super-powered followers can die in combat and go to Valhalla. The Batmen convince David that he is a good person and he turns on Gog, with the other super-powered beings of this world siding with David. Gog uses Metron’s chair to open a bridge to Apokolips. Batman comments that Gog’s ability to corrupt free will and end it is the Anti-Life Equation. They know that if he has it and makes his way to Apokolips, it could be the end of everything. They defeat Gog but it may be too late as Darkseid arrives.

BATMAN/SUPERMAN: WORLD’S FINEST 2024 ANNUAL by Mark Waid, Cullen Bunn, Dennis Culver, Stephanie Williams, Christopher Cantwell, Edwin Galmon, Travis Mercer, Rosi Kampe, and Jorge Fornes. Iin the Fifth Dimension, there is a meeting of the Just-Us League, during which Green-Mite is killed by this world’s version of the Legion of Doom. The heroes make the decision to flee dimensions and the villains are ready to follow, which will be continued in BATMAN/SUPERMAN: WORLD’S FINEST #25. In the second story, Metamorpho goes on a treasure hunt for Simon Stagg, which ends up with him meeting his estranged father, Montana Mason. In the third story, Karen beecher, before she became Bumblebee, helps to take down Bucklin Mart, even though it will affect Stagg Industries. In the last story, the Challengers of the Unknown travel through space-time to stop a possible world ending calamity. But not everyone will come out alive.

BATMAN: THE BRAVE AND THE BOLD #9 by Tom King, Kyle Starks, Gabriel Hardman, Bruno Redondo, Mitch Gerads, Fernando Pasarin, and Matt Hollingsworth. Batman confronts The Joker in the first battle, resulting in the Dark Knight victorious. Batman visits him in prison and tells the villain a joke, with The joker saying they are going to have a great time together. In the second story, Wild Dog decides he is not cut out to be a hero. But that changes when Gizmo holds an entire stadium hostage in an effort to extort five million dollars. Wild Dog suits up and takes Gizmo and his crew done. In the end, Wild Dog learns that a copycat is looking to duplicate Gizmo’s actions, meaning the hero may be moving on. In the third tale, Aquaman teams up with the residents of Gorilla City to fight back against the Dmoniators. Together, they defeat the invaders, even as Konar betrays the Dominators, at the cost of his own life. In the final tale, Batman battles The joker, defeating him, but also getting severely injured in a fall from the roof with the villain. In the end, Lucius Fox shows Batman his newest invention: A grappling hook gun.

BIRDS OF PREY #5 by Kelly Thompson and Arist Deyn. The Birds fight Megaera and the creature captures Sin in the process, Inside Megaera, the creature tries to convince Sin to join her, but she refuses. Dinah makes her way inside and reunites with sin, who tells her of Megaera’s plan, which is to kill someone to become her host. Dinah offers herself but Megaera tells her that Sin had made a wish and now she needs to accept this. Dinah uses her sonic scream to attack Megaera from the inside. Meanwhile, the rest of the Birds fight Diana and the Amazons, who have been corrupted by Megaera.

BLUE BEETLE #5 by Josh Trujillo and Adrian Gutierrez. Gimmix is alive again and meets with Paco and company, explaining that she saw an image of the Blood Scarab in her mirror. Starfire explains that they need to gather Nitida and The horizon to fight . Meanwhile, Jaime meets with Victoria Kord so they can find something to fight the Blood Scarab, which she says she will build. Jaime meets with the others and he rallies them to join him in the fight. The team fights the Blood Scarab and his followers and Jaime orders Victoria to launch her weapon. She does but it only seems to disrupt Jaime, who now must fight the Blood Scarab alone and with no powers.

CATWOMAN #61 by Tini Howard and Stefano Raffaele. Dario and ‘Catwoman’ are fighting crime in Gotham City while Selina Kyle is in Markovia pursuing the radioactive heart of a melted down nuclear reactor for a client. She battles her way inside the reactor, knowing exposure to that item will certainly make her deathly ill, perhaps even kill her because of radiation poisoning. She battles through gun wielding men in radiation suits, even as the poison begins to kill her. In delirium, she converses with an Egyptian goddess, explaining that her ability for rebirth is actually a gift and not a curse. She flees the site and, out in the snow, is visited by Superman, who tries to convince her to go to the hospital. She gives him the sample from the reactor and asks him to destroy the rest. Telling him she is not afraid, she dies in Superman’s arms.

DETECTIVE COMICS #1081 by Ram V, Dan Watters, Hayden Sherman, Riccardo Federici, and Stefano Raffaele. Talia takes an injured Batman to Aras, where he encounters a number of visions, along with Dr. Hurt. Later, he meets with a vision in the form of Farhad I Parethes. He wanders through the desert, eventually reuniting with Hurt and a group of his masked followers, with Hurt telling Batman that he had come to the Gotham that the Batman saved. Meanwhile, The Question continues to investigate the murder of Detective Henry Fielding, crossing paths with his partner’s mother in the process. Later, she finds Fielding’s partner, dead by a self-inflicted gunshot wound. She also finds a confession from him. In the backup, a group of people are in a group therapy session, describing their experiences that resulted in their lives being ruined. What they discover is all of their lives were impacted by Doctor Hurt, and the person leading the session gives them all the chance to kill Hurt.

FIRE & ICE: WELCOME TO SMALLVILLE #5 by Joanne Starer and Natacha Bustos. Fire wakes up to find lobo is gone. Tamarind wakes to find Honey gone and The Big tease on fire, leading to Bea saving her., leading to an argument between Bea and Ice. Meanwhile, the villains wake to find that Lobo has stolen all their loot and make the decision to rob the town. Tora goes to the diner and meets with Rocky, who declares that she needs her, even though it appears she is being controlled. As vines envelop her and other diner customers. Later, Tora and Bea make up, with Tora saying that an ancient creature named Crave is the person responsible for all of this. Rocky shows up wearing the strange mask, which apparently is the host for Crave, declaring that Kooey Kooey Kooey is going to rise again. As the destruction continues, they get a video call from Martha and see that crave is with her and looking for Tora.

THE FLASH #5 by Si Spurrier and Mike Deodato Jr. Jai West is learning more about his powers and now he finds himself wrestling with responsibility, even as his father seems wrapped up in his own problems. With he help of Inspector pilgrim, jai finds himself able to slip through time and observe his father at different points in time, finally ending up where his father is in the middle of conducting experiments. The Stillness arrives and a fight ensues. When it is over, as the cleanup begins, Jai tells his father he does not want to be a superhero.

GREEN ARROW #8 by Joshua Williamson and Phil Hester. Oliver Queen is dead and his son mourns him, while also going out to find his assassin. That leads him to track down Onomatopoeia, who apparently is the shooter. Onomatopoeia has left Star City, meeting with Brick: the man who hired him. Connor arrives and attacks, but Onomatopoeia reveals himself to be Green Arrow and his death had been faked. They ask Brick about what they have heard regarding Waller making some deal to kill of superheroes. Ollie asks him where Waller has taken Roy, but brick says that Roy has not been captured, but is instead working for Waller.

GREEN LANTERN #7 by Jeremy Adams, Peter J. Tomasi, Amanxay Nahuelpan, and David Lafuente. Some time ago, the Lanterns meet the new people in charge on Oa: the United Planets , led by Lord Premier Thaaros. Thaaors declares that Sector 2814 has been quarantined, meaning the Lanterns are banned from protecting Earth. Thaaros assigns Hal and Kilowog to accompany him to Korugar, where they meet with Sinestro. Jordan is evicted from the meeting but sees the beginning of an assassination attempt on Thaaros. Jordan and Kilowog team up, but Kilowog and the assassins are killed when the power battery on Korugar explodes. In the present, Razer tells Hal that the power battery on Odym has been destroyed. In the backup, Ngaf destroys Korg’s handmade rocket ship. In response, Korg shows that Ngaf was living large and stealing from the city, leading to a minor revolt by his followers. Korg defeats Ngaf and now Korg has his own team. To be continued in SINISTER SONS #1.

GREEN LANTERN: WAR JOURNAL #5 by Phillip Kennedy Johnson and Montos. At Steelworks, John is told that is mother is awake, talking to his deceased father and his deceased sister Ellie. John visits her, with her realizing that she is not in her home and that Ellie is missing. John uses his ring to transform the room into their home and also construct Ellie, which calms his mother down. Later, he and Shep go to the Amazon rainforest, where they find marking of the Darkstars. Green Lantern allies of Varron arrive, calling Stewart a traitor. The Radiant Dead arrives, kills the Lanterns and attacks John and Shep.

HARLEY QUINN # 36 by Tini Howard, Alexis Quasarano, Sweeney Boo, and Steve Beach. The Brother Eyes are looking to capture Harley and the monarchs also have been converted. In the middle of all this, with Bud and Lou protecting her, Harley gets a call from Ivy. Harley and Lux head out through the Multiverse to try and find her friend Kevin. And also to see what Harley will do in various situations in her Multiversal timelines. She finds and saves Kevin and now has to fight against her students, who have been corrupted, and not injure them in the process. She is told that if Harley gives herself up, her students will be released. She agrees but wants to visit Ivy first. Before she gives up, she asks for heroes to help her and the only person who does is Ivy. But the Brother Eyes have a plan and that is to show the whole world how horrible a person Harley really is. In the backup, Harley dreams she is a barbarian tasked to save Ivy in a fantasy world. She saves Ivy but, as always, she wakes before she gets to kiss the love of her life.

DC UNIVERSE< Month 71, Part 2

JUSTICE LEAGUE VS. GODZILLA VS. KONG #3 by Brian Buccellato and Christian Duce. Flash heads off to iron heights prison to fight the creature there but he also has to fight off the escaping prisoners. Captain Cold freezes The Flash and, when he finally gets free, the villains have gotten away and he has to free Green Lantern from a creature. Supergirl and Green Lantern show up to lend a hand but she suddenly leave when Supergirl realizes she cannot hear her cousin’s heart.  In downtown Metropolis, Atom Smasher attacks Godzilla as Billy stands over Superman’s fallen body. But Godzilla bites Atom Smasher and he also falls, causing Billy to turn into The Captain and, with Supergirl’s help, knocks the creature out. She instructs Hawkgirl to take her fallen cousin to the Fortress of Solitude. On Skull Island, Kong attacks a giant creature as Green Arrow watches. Kong approaches and Supergirl arrives and smacks the giant ape on the nose, forcing him to walk away. At Themyscira, Donna and Diana use their lassos to secure a mammoth-like creature, but it eventually turns away and leaves. Later, The Captain meets with Batman, Batwoman, Black Canary and Cyborg, where he tells them that Superman is dead. In the end, Lex Luthor has arrived in the Chihuahuan Desert and finds a device, which makes him very happy.

JUSTICE SOCIETY OF AMERICA # 8 by Geoff Johns and Mikel Janin. Last night in Moscow, a woman wearing an outfit with a Lantern design on it demands to see her father and kills a group of soldiers. Huntress reveals to the JSA that the woman’s name is Ruby Sokov  and she is searching for the Red Lantern, who Alan Scott declares is dead. Huntress reveals that he is alive in her time and Alan, who has history with him, goes  after Ruby, telling her that her father is dead, even after she creates a construct of him. They go to a bar to talk, telling her he wants to bring her to the JSA to meet with Huntress. Meanwhile, the team continues to work to get other villains to be deprogrammed, including Michael Mayne: the Harlequin’s son. Elsewhere, a Legionnaire is upset that the JSA got to Ruby before he did.

NIGHTWING #109 by Tom Taylor, Stephen Byrne, and Sam Basri. Bea has been stabbed by her brother and tossed into the sea below, leading Dick to go after her, saving her and patching up her wound. She decides she needs to go after her brother and also agrees to release Dick from his debt and will give him his box once this mission is done. She proceeds to tell him how Hendrik Blud slayed a sea creature and made it a haven that he protected. She also explains how she became part of the family because she was adopted by his descendant after she stole a superyacht. Dirk is in the process of going to Bea’s ship and taking control of it and her crew. Dick arrives, defeating most of Dirk’s crew. Dick has back-up in the form of Bea and some of her crew, allowing her to defeat her brother. In return, Bea gives him access to the box, where he finds a CD-ROM disc. When he plays it, he sees it has video from the night his parents died and sees that Tony Zucco was responsible for sabotaging his parent’s trapeze. In the backup, Damian is investigating the Beast World events and a mysterious woman forces one of the Starro creatures into his mouth and he turns into a two legged cat.

OUTSIDERS #2 by Jackson Lanzing, Collin Kelly, and Robert Carey. Kate Kane tells the Outsiders about an event in the Enlil Triangle that she once investigated as a Navy cadet and they were attacked by a sea monster, leaving her as the sole survivor. The trio heads there, even though Drummer is concerned that Kate only wants to get revenge on the creature for the deaths of her friends. Once there, they find they area is being guarded by the New Challengers of the Unknown, who order them to turn back. The Outsiders plane is amphibious and goes underwater with the Challengers following and destroying the craft’s engines. They end up in a bed of monster bones and the Challengers tell Batwoman this is where Aquaman dumps the bones of the monsters he kills. One of the Challengers decides to destroy the graveyard and The Outsiders but the sea monster arrives. Drummer finds out that the monster is a child of these creatures and is protecting the grave. The Challengers eventually depart and Drummer credits Kate for not giving in to revenge.

THE PENGUIN #5 by Tom King and Rafael De Latorre. The Black Spider is taking out other villains and then meets with the Cobblepot children who berate him for his actions, deciding to only pay him with half the venom he should receive. The venom, it turns out, is for his lover On his next mission, his quarry ends up in the river and Batman shows up, causing him to dive in the river to flee. Back in his apartment, he finds his lover gone, with two stuffed penguins left behind. He takes a severe beating from the Cobblepots before they take him to his lover, who has also been beaten. In the end, he decides to join The Penguin and be his man on the inside of his children’s organization.

POISON IVY #17 by G. Willow Wilson and Luanna Vecchio. Janet wants to tell Ivy about her and Harley kissing the night previous but can’t. Ivy goes to Slaughter Swamp to continue her experiments and finds the Killer Croc ate some of the  mushrooms, which means he is not infected, but is apparently immune. She tries to take blood from him but he is afraid of needles. While she is suffering from the infection, some of the infected arrive and she and Croc fight them. As she is being attacked by Chuck, Grundy arrives and he and Croc begin to fight. But now they must put their differences aside because there are a lot of infected here..

POWER GIRL #4 by Leah Williams and Eduardo Pansica. Kara is infected and now meets with the creature that had possessed Hamlet inside her mind. . She sees her cousin and attacks him. Inside her mind, the creature instructs her to kill Superman so he can be free. Omen arrives and manages to get the creature, that is not a virus, out of her friend. As she heals, Superman reveals it was not a virus but a symbioship. In the Fortress, Kelex attempts to put Hamlet to rest, but the symbioship in him leaves and attaches itself to Kelex, while also connecting to Kelex and becoming Symbio. Superman arrives and Kelex is still infected.

SHAZAM #6 by Mark Waid and Dan Mora. Freddy offers to take the powers, but this is just a ruse and the pair stage a fight, where it is revealed that Mercury is behind this whole thing, saying he could redistribute the gods powers. The rest of the family and the dinosaur arrive carrying weapons they took from the Rock of Eternity. Using weapons and skills, the combined family fights the gods, turning Zeus into a duck. Solomon is not participating in the fight and Billy follows him, where he admits that this was done to remind humans that gods do exist. He apologizes and says he can fix it. The solution is to increase the captain’s wisdom, which Solomon says will continue on and eventually cause Billy and The Captain to separate. The captain stops the fight and tells the gods that they need to earn the respect of humans. Later, at the Rock of Eternity, the dinosaur asks to be the caretaker and Billy agrees. But his bosses are not pleased and they come to Earth, landing in Khandaq, where they will have to deal with Black Adam.

SPEED FORCE #2 by Jarrett Williams and Daniele Di Nicuolo. Wallace and Avery comes back from their battle with Mas Y Menos as everyone seems attracted to this new musical app called Symphonee. Wallace and Connor go to the Fortress of Solitude, where they ask Kelex to try and find Mas Y Menos. But Connor seems distracted by this new app and he decides to watch television with Kelex. Back at Mister Traffic’s lab, Avery, Mister Terrific and Roundhouse get attacked by T-Spheres. Wallace searches in the ocean, which is where Kelex has said that Mas Y Manos is. Meanwhile, the CEO of Symphonee, The Music Meister, makes his move.

SUPERMAN #9 by Joshua Williamson and Bruno Redondo. Following his defeating of The Chained, Superman is in a coma and suffering from extreme Kryptonite poisoning. Perry suspends his campaign for Mayor to help take care of Metropolis on the ground. Lex meets with his mother, who informs him that his daughter has graduated high school years ago because of her intellect and is working at Supercorp The Chained is being held there and Lena meets  LL-01: a program designed to answer any of her questions. Superman awakes from his coma and insists that he needs to go back out and confront Pharm and Graft before they attack their next target: Marilyn Midnight. Graft meets with Marilyn and tries to convince her to join him. That is when Superman arrives in one of Lex’ battle armors. He attacks Graft but Graft fires a ray at Marilyn, causing an explosion that makes Marilyn and Superman to disappear. Somewhere, in the time of the Old West, an elderly woman and her two young sons are riding a train and being protected by the heroes Nighthawk and Cinnamon. A mysterious rider approaches the train and Nighthawk and Cinnamon go to meet him, but he heats up their guns, forcing them to drop them. It turns out to be Superman and he tells them he is here to rob this train.

TITANS #6 by Tom Taylor and Nicola Scott. Continued from TITANS: BEAST WORLD #2 and #3. In the past, a young Starfire watches as her parents are killed by invaders and she becomes a slave, until she finally breaks free. Now, she is fighting against a Black Adam who has been turned into a lion by the Starro creatures. Back at Titans Tower, tempest arrives with Brother Eternity and they make their way inside along with the beasts. Brother Eternity finds Batman and plots, while tempest tries to drown his comrades. Starfire arrives and confronts Brother Eternity, just as one of his allies arrives: Xand’R, who she has not seen since the attack on her planet.

TITANS: BEAST WORLD #2 by Tom Taylor and Ivan Reis. Cyborg and Raven are trying to communicate with Gar, who has been taken over by Starro. Back on Earth, Animal Man is dealing with feeling all these creatures as they make their way into the Red. In Bludhaven, Batman and Nightwing try and rescues citizens with Batman get infected in the process and he turns. Which much effort, Nightwing apprehend his mentor. In Khandaq, Donna and Starfire need to save citizens from a turned Black Adam when Oracle tells them that the creatures that the spores will cause their hosts to seek stronger sources. Meanwhile, Waller and Peacemaker meet with the President, telling him that he should give her the authority to take control of the situation.

TITANS: BEAST WORLD #3 by Tom Taylor and Lucas Meyer. Starfire uses her powers to blast all of the Starros. The Flash and Impulse shows up to help evacuate citizens while Donna gets called into space by Raven, leaving Starfire to deal with Black Adam. At Titans Tower, Batman has been detained and Detective Chimp shows up, demanding to speak to Nightwing., telling him that something is driving these creatures. Donna secures Garro and orders the others to go help on Earth before someone else steps into this. Starfire battles Black Adam, who suddenly flees. Creatures attack an airliner when Power Girl shows up to fight the creatures but ingests a spore and turns. Luckily Jon shows up to deal with her. At Stryker’s Island, Amanda Waller shows up and meets with Lex, saying she needs something he stole from Batman and tells him she plans on killing Beast Boy.

TITANS: BEAST WORLD CENTRAL CITY #1 by Si Spurrier, Jarrett Williams, Alex Paknadel, A.L. Kaplan, Scott Koblish George Kambadais,  and Serg Acuna. The Starro spores have landed in Central City and the Flash Family needs to band together to save the city. Barry learns that Godspeed has been taken over by the spores, turning him into a wasp with him stinging people and capturing them. Wallace and Avery team up to face off against Fadeaway Man, who was turned into a squirrel.. After defeating him, a spore infects Avery and he uses a move from a video game to free her. Jai and Maxine are out on a “not date” when Godspeed attacks, stinging Jai and causing Maxine to use her animal powers to send him away. Aji, slowly dying, calls on the lightning from the Speed Force to jump start his heart and defeats some of Godspeed’s transformed victims. Iris gets turned into a cuttlefish and, when the creature leaves her body , trying to attach itself to Barry, the Flash Family arrives and Jai crushes the creature. Elsewhere, Circuit Breaker teams up with the Pied Piper to battle a group of transformed people, including Impulse. Who was turned into a lizard. Circuit Breaker finds a way to capture Impulse and ride him like a horse to their next destination. Maxine eventually convinces the Flash Family to let the spores take them and she uses the power of the Red to transform them into huge insects, allowing them to capture many creatures. TITANS: BEAST WORLD GOTHAM #1 by Chip Zdarsky, Grace Ellis, Gretchen Felker-Martin, Sam Maggs, Kyle Starks. Miguel Mendonca, Daniel Hillyard, Ivan Shavrin, PJ Holden, and Kelley Jones. Continued from TITANS: BEAST WORLD #2, Nightwing pursues a changed Batman with an unexpected assist from a turned Killer Croc, who gets attacked by the lupine Batman. Nightwing eventually catches him and he is transported to Titans Tower. In the second tale, a crook is going through therapy when he reveals he saw a giant rabbit, that turns out to be a transformed Harley Quinn. She shows up at the doctor’s office and steals the man’s phone, bringing it to Ivy. In the third tale, a transformed Red Hood must fight his way through other transformed folks to get back home. In the fourth tale, Huntress gets transformed into a giant cat and she faces off with Cassandra Cain, who uses a laser to distract and entertain her friend. In the final tale, Stephanie faces off against a transformed Killer Moth

TITANS: BEAST WORLD TOUR METROPOLIS #1 by Nicole Maines, Steve Orlando,  Dan Jurgens, Zipporah Smith, Joshua Williamson, Fico Ossio, Anthony marques, and Edwin Galmon. Nia and Yvette  are having lunch when Nia sees incoming explosions in the future, which sends her out to try and stop it before it happens. Jon arrives and she tells him they need to evacuate A-Town, which he refuses to town because of the panic it will cause. Jon uses the internet to get the message out, so people don’t freak out because the message is coming from someone they trust, despite the current sentiments put in place by Blue Earth. Jon and Dreamer team up to take down a transformed Livewire. The videos go viral and Amanda Waller sees it and makes plans. In the second story, Bippo encounters a transform Jimmy Olsen, who is now a giant Turtle Boy. A transformed Power Girl arrives and the spore leaves Jimmy, transforming him back to his own self. In the final story, Lois is at the Fortress of Solitude and is observing what is happening in the world. Superman is almost transformed by the spores, but an implanted nanobot releases shock waves to send the spores away. Through it all, Brainiac observes and plans..

TITANS: BEAST WORLD WALLER RISING #1 by Chuck Brown and Keron Grant. Deadeye is at his day job in an ambulance trying to save a shooting victim when he is contacted telepathically by Waller, telling him he needs to go after Doctor Hate, who has stolen a Phantom Zone projector from her and fled to Tinasha. This also happens to be where Val-Zod and Red Tornado from Earth 2 are stranded. Doctor Hate arrives and kidnaps Val-Zod. He finds himself in the realm of The Kingdom and speaks with Gallous, who tells him the bomb hate has is enough to crack the Kingdom open. Later, in the Red Sea, Doctor Hate attacks Black Manta, who was supposed to sell him a Mega-Bomb. Batwing and Vixen  head there and find the result of the attack on Manta and convince him to join them. Vixen needs to Later, he sends out the Lords of Chaos against a bunch of Metas including Nubia, Dr. Mist, and Freedom Beast. Deadeye heads to Tinasha, where he meets Val-Zod, Nubia and others, causing them to team up and battle the Chaos creatures, with Deadeye saving the day. Later, Waller meets with Doctor Hate, where she yells at him for interfering with her plans. Deadeye, revealed to be her nephew, calls her and she tells him to pick a side. He ends up siding with his new friends in an effort to build their own team.

WESLEY DODDS: THE SANDMAN #3 by Robert Venditti and Riley Rossimo. Wesley goes to the morgue and, along with coroner Hubert Klein, examines the charred body of Igor Kluge. Together, they learn that Kluge was dead before the fire. Later, after looking over some police files, he learns that Kluge was dishonorably discharged from the military. Sandman goes back to the burned apartment and is attacked by someone else who is worrying a version of the Sandman attire and also his gas gun. During the battle, both men lose their masks and, as the villain flees, Wesley is overcome by the gas.

WONDER WOMAN #4 by Tom King, Daniel Sampere, and Belen Ortega. Wonder Woman visits with a terminally sick child, whose only request is to visit Themyscira. Despite the objections of the Amazons, Diana and Jack are allowed to stay on the island, where he enjoys the time of his life with his hero. At the same time, Waller meets with Steel, telling him to activate his list of soldiers. . Meanwhile, The Sovereign meets with the President, forcing him to kiss his ring. The president later goes on a television broadcast, revealing that Wonder Woman was responsible for the soldier’s suicide and she is now considered an enemy of the people. In the backup, Lizzie finds herself in a gladiatorial battle against Damian and Jon. But this is all a dream as she has been Black Mercying. The pair try their hardest and eventually pry the creature off Lizzie, waking her from the dream..

WORLD’S FINEST: TEEN TITANS #5 by Mark Waid and Emamuela Lupacchino. At the moment in Star City, a villain named Seismic has captured Oliver Queen and is calling out the Terror Titans. The Terror Titans attack Seismic and he disappears, being replaced by Kid Flash, who was actually Seismic in disguise. Together, they work as a cohesive team to take down the Terror Titans. Mal and Karen go on another date, Donna and Aqualad admit they should just be friends and Dick needs to tell Batman that he revealed his secret identity to his teammates, which buys him a month out of uniform. Five weeks later and the Titans are back in action.

DC UNIVERSE< Month 71, Part 1

ACTION COMICS #1060 by Phillip Kennedy Johnson, Nicole Maines, Steve Orlando, Joe Casey, Eddy Barrows, Fico Ossio, Eber Ferreira, and Dan McDaid. Superman is seeking help to get his daughter back and that leads him to John Constantine. Constantine brings him to Norah Stone’s abode, where they find that she has made an Organum Inernalis that allows her to transport between worlds. Otho-Ra is now on Earth Al Ghul, where she meets Sister Shadow. As she explains, every Earth that they conquer starts with the Kryptonians and that is the ultimate purpose of Blue Earth. She then shows her the Valkyrie General of the Warworld Engines: a Multiverse version of Otho-Ra. Superman hears his daughter’s voice and, despite Constantine’s orders, touches an hourglass that causes an explosion and transports Superman to Hell, where he is greeted by Bloodwynd and Etrigan, who tell him they must hurry and get to Earth Al-Ghul. In the first backup, Jon is relaxing at Dreamers place, after evacuating A-Town to Parthas during TITANS: BEAST WORLD TOUR METROPOLIS #1. Amanda Waller arrives, telling her she needs to stop Afterthought from freeing her prisoners or there will be issues involving her hometown. She does the job, stops Afterthought, even at the cost of his men. In the end, Dr. Hate meets with Waller, loving the idea that dreamer can now be controlled. In the second backup, Zod is making his moves, much to the surprise and concern of his son. This story will be continued in KNEEL BEFORE ZOD #1

ACTION COMICS ANNUAL 2023 by Phillip Kennedy Johnson and Max Raynor. Continued from ACTION COMICS #1060. On Earth Al-Ghul, Superman, Bloodwynd, and Etrigan save a family of slaves, who direct them to the Al-Ghul citadel, where Sister Shadow is working on trying to break Otho-Ra and make her the warrior she is destined to be. The heroes from Earth Zero encounter an invasion force that is heading to Earth Zero. The team makes their way to the citadel where Otho stabs Etrigan. When she sees Superman, she envisions him as Mongul and attacks him. he convinces her that she is the bravest child he has ever known and the starchild of Ra, turning her away from Sister Shadow. Seeing her plan needing changing,  she gathers her troops to invade Earth Zero. On Earth Zero, the transform followers of Earth Blue attacks the Superman Family even as Sister Shadow’s followers attack. Supergirl convinces the Earth Blue followers, who see that Nora Stone is leading the attackers, to fight with them. Osul takes the fight to Sister Shadow in an effort to save his sister. But it is Superman and Otho that save him, even as Bloodwynd and Etrigan open a portal and send the invaders back to Earth Al-Ghul. One week later, Metropolis is still rebuilding and Superman is their defender.

ALAN SCOTT: THE GREEN LANTERN #3 by Tim Sheridan and Cian Tormey. Alan Scott finds himself down by the docks, looking to hook up with a young man, learning that the police are cracking down on homosexual activities. He also learns that a connection named Tommy has drowned. Alan and Jay Garrick investigate with Jay telling him both recent deaths  are being investigated by another JSA member. That leads Alan to meet up with Jim Corrigan, better known as The Spectre. They discover an empty police file, meaning that the police have had no intention  to investigate the deaths of these homosexual men. Alan vents his anger and how he is obviously involved in actions that God would not approve of and he takes comfort from The Spectre. During their conversation, Alan realizes he may be missing something and heads back to his apartment where he comes face to face with his former lover Johnny, who is both speaking Russian and is revealed as the Red Lantern

AMAZONS ATTACK #3 by Josie Campbell and Vasco Georgiev. With the Amazons in disarray, Nubia, Faruka and Mary Marvel investigate the destroyed structure in Esquecida. Nubia and Faruka head off to the Greek border, where they observe a tent city and meet with Ismene Dimakos, who has set up the city for displaced Amazons and those who support them. Believing that Eris is responsible, they head off to the Garden of Hesperides, where the golden apples grow. Meanwhile, Mary heads to Belle Reve to meet with Sivana, who tells her that Eris is not responsible and then tricks her and makes her escape. In the garden, Faruka finds Eris and she has been crucified to one of the apple bearing trees.

BATMAN #140 by Chip Zdarsky, Jorge Jimenez, and Mike Hawthorne. Batman battles The Joker, but he is really fighting at a disadvantage as he is being controlled in a battle in his mind with Zur-En-Arrh and the other Multiverse versions and they are struggling to take over his earthly persona. He catches The Joker and is beating him to a pulp when Lucie Chesson gets him to stop, gaining Bruce’s own psyche back momentarily. She gives him words of advice and, even though he is mentally incapacitated again, he manages to break through before killing The Joker. Later he wakes in a strange place where he is greeted by the New Batman…straight from Project Terminus. In the backup, vandal Savage meets with some of the wealthiest people in Gotham and one of them seems intent on making Savage Police Commissioner...

BATMAN AND ROBIN #4 by Joshua Williamson and Simone Di Meo. In the past, Damian trains with Mistress Harsh. Disappointed with his performance, she slaps Damian, leading to her dismissal by Talia. Now, Daian has been captured by Man-Bat, who reveals that he poisoned Batman and turned the bats against him. Shush works for him, as does the transformed Terrible Trio. Batman and White Rabbit arrive. Man Bat turns the bats loose on Batman as he leaves with Shush. But Batman has learned not to show them fear and now he again controls the bats. With Dr. Kafira rescued and the Terrible Trio apprehended, they notice how the Trio is now filled with rage. White Rabbit leaves, to be captured at a later time. The next morning, Damian returns to school, where he and Bruce meet with Principal Stone. Damian reveals that Stone is the former Mistress Harsh and also Shush.

BATMAN BEYOND: NEO GOTHIC #7 by Collin Kelly, Jackson Lanzing, and Max Dunbar. With Neo Gotham in turmoil because of the creatures from the Green attacking it, Terry fights against them, before revealing his secret identity and telling the citizens they can all be Batman and the citizens transform to become Batman, helping to defeat the creatures and a transformed Killer Croc. Meanwhile,  Kyle confronts Constantine and tells him he forgives him, allowing Constantine to die in peace. In the end, Terry, more confident than ever, calls Dana, saying he has a lot to explain to her.

BATMAN: OFF WORLD #2 by Jason Aaron and Doug Mahnke. Batman continues to train, now with Punch-Not and Nyreek. They eventually break free and turn against their captors, but Punch-Bot has been left behind, which causes Batman to go back for him. But the bot is taken out by Akkarian and Batman ends up in space and Nyreek saves him. They crash land on the planet Akkari, where Batman plans to finish his training.

BATMAN-SANTA CLAUS: SILENT KNIGHT #1 by Jeff Parker and Michele Bandini. It’s Christmas time in Gotham and a group of carolers gets killed by a group of winged creatures. The victims all have a single puncture wound in their neck and have been drained of blood. Zatanna arrives and , using her magic, sees that the creatures were The Draug: a vampiric version of Norse undead. One of the creatures returns and  the heroes get saved by…Santa Claus? There is another attack and Santa saves Nightwing and Batgirl. Zatanna tells the origins of Santa: how he and the Norse warriors used to gather every year for The Wild Hunt, where they went after the most deadly of creatures. The deadliest was Krampus, who eventually became Santa’s friend and helped seek out the creatures. Krampus would scare children but Santa would create toys for them. While examining one of the creatures, something bursts forth infecting Zatanna. Krampus has returned.

BATMAN-SANTA CLAUS: SILENT KNIGHT #2 by Jeff Parker, Michele Bandini and Trevor Hairsine. With Krampus’ appearance, a small wooden box is left behind. Back at the Batcave, the box is opened and it transports the heroes into the past, where Krampus threatens to eat a wicked child. Santa intervenes and this becomes the ritual: Santa takes care of the good children and Krampus threatens the bad. Santa messages the team, telling them that he is showing them how the relationship developed. At one point in history, Krampus actually eats some children, enraging Santa, who cast him into the Nightmare Realm. Later, Miss Martian infiltrates the Draug lair, along with Green Arrow and Black Canary, only to be joined by Superman. In the end, Krampus is building his army.

BATMAN-SANTA CLAUS: SILENT KNIGHT #3 by Jeff Parker and Michele Bandini. Harpies are attacking London, leading to Hawkgirl, Green Lantern Jo, and Wonder Woman to engage them Wonder Woman learns that Krampus was responsible for freeing the harpies. Elsewhere, Superman join the other heroes in a fight against one of the monster, with the help of Peppermint Jon. That is when they find that Krampus has arrived. Superman attacks him and gets corrupted by him, leading him to crack open a glacier and free the Monsterkind.

BATMAN-SANTA CLAUS: SILENT KNIGHT #4 by Jeff Parker and Michele Bandini. While many of the heroes fight together against the Monsterkind and Superman, Robin is being held in the Gnome Hall, where a dark creature is giving Krampus his orders. Blue Beetle blasts Superman with Kryptonite and frees him from Krampus’ corruption. After speaking with Santa, Superman realizes that whatever is influencing Krampus is something from the Phantom Zone. Meanwhile, Robin makes off that he is scared, earning Krampus’ kindness. The heroes arrives at Gnome Hall and force the Phantom Zone creature from out of Krampus, restoring him to what he once was. With the creatures defeated, Santa reunites with Krampus, he invites Damian to join them to deliver presents. While the rest of the heroes join Peppermint Jon for a Christmas feast.

BATMAN/SUPERMAN: WORLD’S FINEST #22 by Mark Waid and Dan Mora. Superman and Batman fight Gog’s heroes, with this world’s Firestorm taking down Superman with Kryptonite Gas, allowing them to be captured. In Gog’s dungeon, the heroes see the villains of this world and meet with Metron, who reveals how Gog ended up here and now has made the Mobius Chair as his throne. Gog tells David he has progressed and transforms him, renaming him Magog. Meanwhile, this world’s Superman and Batman question David’s story and end up meeting our heroes in their prison, giving Batman back his utility belt and Superman his uniform. Metron reveals that he plans on taking Magog and leading an all-out war on Apokolips and engaging on a battle with no survivors.

BATMAN: THE BRAVE AND THE BOLD #8 by Guillem March, Kyle Starks, Gabriel Hardman, John Higgins, and Fernando Pasarin. The two Batmen head to Aurora’s home to rescue her and her mother. The real Batman sits back and lets Frank Freeman take the lead on this operation, which has been planned by The Ventriloquist. Frank saves Aurora while her mother finds Batman, calls him Bryce, and then kisses him. The Ventriloquist threatens to kill Aurora and Frank gives up, allowing the thugs to beat him up. Batman shows up and takes out the villains, even as Aurora tosses away Scarface. Wesker is no longer under Scarface’s control but, somehow, Scarface triggers a series of explosions. Frank saves Wesker but Aurora is falling with no one to catch her, which is when Catwoman arrives and saves her. In the end, Aurora asks her mother why she kissed Batman and Catwoman examines Scarface. In the second tale, Wild Dog meets with Alan. The two of them fight and Alan gives up the information Wild Dog needs. Later, he goes to break into a crime family meeting, but that plan goes astray when a team shows up, with their leader saying he runs the family now. He kills Longbeard and, revealed as Gizmo, he tells them he is taking over the family. Wild Dog gets involved and is taken down. In the third tale, Aquaman learns from Konar that this facility they are in was started by expatriates of Gorilla City and that the Dominators had arrived and taken control. One gorilla, Ajjar, became a willing collaborator with the Dominators. The two work together to stop them but Konar gets caught and is gravely injured. But he has enough energy to save Aquaman, sending him to Gorilla City. In the final tale, Batman deals with the terrorist group Citizens Against, whose leader has developed a procedure to save her daughter for Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. But the woman takes it too far at the cost of her life.

BIRDS OF PREY #4 by Kelly Thompson and Leonardo Romero. In Themyscira, Zealot battles Wonder Woman and Barda intervenes, telling the rest of the team to find the Mega Rod and freeing Sin. Diana prevails but the Cass arrives and engages the battle. The team gets captured and jailed and then Megaera is loose. Cass breaks everyone out of prison and they discover that Diana has been captured by Megaera who tosses the Amazon into the sea, meaning it’s now Megaera, versus the Birds.

BLUE BEETLE #4 by Josh Trujillo and Adrian Gutierrez. Lex Luthor sends Janice Cord a voluminous floral display of flowers which she promptly burns with a flame thrower. While Paco has relationship problems with Xiomara, especially when Fadeaway and Gimmix show up, Jaime goes for a walk to talk with Oo’li, where she tells him that he must do the unthinkable when faced with ultimate evil. He meets with Starfire and then goes to visit Kord, asking her how she would kill someone like him. In Egypt, the Blood Scarab, Javier Basualdo,  bursts forth from the tomb he was buried in and is told he must succeed or he will die

CATWOMAN #60 by Tini Howard and Stefano Raffaele. Selina is still trying to deal with her multiple deaths and ends up attending the Theater of Death, where she becomes the star, thanks to Flamingo. She is subdued and may have died again. When she wakes, she attacks Flamingo, who reveals someone known as The Producer is responsible for all of this. The Flamingo makes a deal with her to help him steal the Idol of Bacchus. She does and betrays Flamingo in the process. To her surprise, she has not died And still has six lives left.

CYBORG #7 by Morgan Hampton, Bruno Abdias, and Travis Mercer. Cyborg battles Solace and Maz gets in the way and gets injured. Cyborg finds himself in his own mind, in a digital version of his house and has a conversation with his father., who tells him that he is going to wipe the system, meaning he will die too. The two of them encounter Solace in the digital realm, defeating him at the cost of  his father’s life. In the end, Max comes out of his coma and Cyborg mourns his father while accepting his place in the world.

DANGER STREET #12 by Tom King and Jorge Fornes. Following the ritual, the reconstituted arm of Metamorpho leaves the Commodore’s plane. At the same time, the Outsiders realize they are human again. He tells Abdul that the Feds have seized all of his company assets and Abdul’s sole remark is that they should get off the place, because it is not theirs anymore. As they are walking down the road, a passerby picks up Abdul, now going to L.A. but tells the driver that the Commodore can find his own ride. At Lady Cop’s home, Warlord is alive again, even as Orion complains that there is no mercy for gods or men and that the sky is falling, before doing the same to the resurrected Creeper. The Dingbats are in the kitchen, enjoying a reunion with the resurrected Good Looks. Metamorpho returns and reunites with his arm. Lady Cop spoils the good mood by telling the Dingbats that Good Looks, now possessing the soul of Atlas, must leave as he will be responsible for keeping the sky from falling. Krunch suggests that they all go together, where they can sit around, play video games and reads comics for all of infinity. With a power assist from Starman to Orion’s Mother Box, the boys depart and Lady Cop proceeds to arrest Warlord, Starman, Orion, Metamorpho and The Creeper. The next day, she drives out to the desert with the helmet where the Lord of Chaos arrives and takes the helmet. The next day, she gives a ticket to The Outsiders, who have now taken the Dingbats place riding up and down Danger Street. The Commodore ends up in jail, Warlord and Starman share a drink, Jack Ryder is back at work, Metamorpho gets used to being reborn and the Dingbats are living their best life making sure the world does not end. And the narrator, which has been Dr. fate’s helmet since issue #1, is revealed to be in a bar with the Lord of Chaos.

DETECTIVE COMICS #1079 by Ram V, Dan Watters, Jason Shawn Alexander, Liam Sharp, and Juan Ferreyra. Batman dangles at the end of a rope, apparently hung in front of Gotham. Bellow Gotham, Cheshire reunites with her daughter and helps, along with Grundy, to get the captives out. Elsewhere, Azrael battles the devil beast. Catwoman has been captured but it is actually Eiko and she escapes. Selina attacks the van carrying Batman’s corpse, and along with Grundy and the team from the tunnel, they carry Batman away. When Selina visited him in his cell, she kissed him with lipstick from Ivy, designed to make him appear dead. Back in the tunnels, the Reality Engine is out of control, causing Mr. Freeze to flee. As Gotham fights back, a boat arrives and Talia is here…and Two-Face may be involved also. In the backup, the story of how the matriarch of the Orghams arrived in Gotham, to take the city back.

DETECTIVE COMICS #1080 by Ram V, Dan Watters, Jason Shawn Alexander, Mike Perkins, and Christopher Mitten. Batman has been saved and now Selina and Jim Gordon are on the run with him. The Orgham followers go after them and they get saved by Two Face, allowing Selina a chance to meet with Talia at the docks and she takes possession of her former lover. Meanwhile, the matriarch of the Orghams reveals she killed her husband, as she also kills her loyal son. Over the next few weeks and months, Gotham moves on and forgets Batman and begins the healing process. Talia fights against her enemies and, in the end, it is just her and Batman, still possessed by Barbatos. In the end, the death of Henry Fielding is investigated by none other than The Question. Un the backup, a young Damian dreams of Aleasa, who may or may not be real.

FIRE & ICE: WELCOME TO SMALLVILLE #4 by Joanne Starer and Natacha Bustos. While Ice and Rocky attempt to clean up the business from the mess made when Jimmy transformed, Firs and the villains are in a cave where Fire is still doing her reality show when lobo shows up and makes the moves on Fire. She receives a call from Martha Kent, asking her to have them meet up. When she arrives, she sees that Ice is also there , as they will be attending a Drag Brunch. While there, the pair make up, but Rocky comes in and proceeds to get between them. As the three argue, the emcee for the event encourages them to come up on stage, which leads to a greater fight that gets them all tossed out of the event. Once outside, they see a protest against the concept of a Drag Brunch, which leads to Fire knocking out Miss Congeniality. Fire heads back to the Big tease and finds Tamarind smooching with Honey, who was able to get past Krypto, who was charged with watching the cave. She agrees to let Honey spend the night and Fire goes off on a date with Lobo. While on their date, they observe a fire burning from the location of the Big Tease.

THE FLASH #4 by Si Spurrier and Mike Deodato Jr. While Wally continues to investigates the other place in his mind, he sees that his daughter is involved in an investigation of a career criminal during the recent Beast World event. While teaming up with Liberty Belle, they discovers a woman who also appears to have Speed Force, In the process, she encounter Mirror Master, who tries to killer her and she gets saved by her father, who admits his mind is elsewhere.

GREEN ARROW #7 by Joshua Williamson, Sean Izaakse, Oliver is back on Earth and goes to visit the Justice league, to find they are gone. As he helps out the former Justice League members, he learns that the League has disbanded, Superman is now working for Lexcorp,(renamed Supercorp), and none of the former team want to put it back together. The one thing he does know is that Roy is missing and Amanda Waller is pulling a lot of strings. Ollie gets together with Connor and goes off to find Roy and Waller. But someone else has unfinished business with Ollie that made interrupt that plan.

GREEN LANTERN #6 by Jeremy Adams, Peter J. Tomasi, David Lafuente, and Xermanico. Hal is forced to fight Sinestro, releasing so much energy that it is detected all over the world. It also keeps the Superman Family from assisting because the emotional energy being released is something like Kryptonite to them. Fighter jets arrive and Sinestro attacks them, which Hall has to deal with before returning to the fight. They battle each other with giant constructs that causes a huge explosion. Sinestro flees and Hal tries to follow but his no energy left in his ring. Back at his trailer, Hal talks with Killowog when Razer shows up, revealing that this Killowog is a construct. Killowog is dead and Hal blames himself for it. In the backup, Sinestro’s rescues some stolen organs from a band of crooks and, returning them where they belong, steal their credits. He builds a spaceship to go after his father but, just as he is about to take off, Nagaf arrives and destroys the spaceship, severely injuring Korg.

GREEN LANTERN: WAR JOURNAL #4 by Phillip Kennedy Johnson and Montos. On the planet Durla, the refugees of Euphorix are welcomed by Lord Premier Thaaros. But this is all for show as they are soon sent to the Steamyard Ghettos while he instructs his people to get a group of Lanterns to find Varron. Meanwhile, inside of John Stewart’s mind, Rayner, Shepherd and Stewart fight a battle to defeat his infection, which fails. Back in the real world, where Stewart is being contained, he learns that the rings of dead Lanterns rings don’t go back to a new wearer; instead just going dark. They go to Steelworks where they try to reactivate the ring. The infection begins to take hold and Stewart goes on another “Soul trek”, where he confronts Varron. Stewart fights back against the infection and now has control of the ring and is ready to take on the Radiant Dead.

HARLEY QUINN # 35 by Tini Howard, Hannah Rose May Logan Faerber, and Leomacsvi. The digital Harley takes Kevin and Harley’s students hostage. Harley and Lux prepare to travel to Earth 48, but not before they eat and Lux tells some basic details of why he became a P.I.. Kevin sends out a message warning them not to come rescue them because it’s a trap. Kevin break free and flees, ending up somewhere lost in the Multiverse. Corrupted Brother Eyes capture Lady Quark and her followers, but Harley and Lux arrives and they team up until Quark and Volt get corrupted too. Bud and Lou arrive and say how they are always around to help Harley. Lux reveals that her four students are still here but Kevin is lost. In the backup, Harley dreams about looking for an artifact for Waller along with Croc, resulting in a weird Indian Jones style adventure.

HAWKGIRL #5 by Jadzia Axelrod and Amancay Nahuelpan. Hawkgirl is in the Nth World and is seeking Vulpecula. When she finds her, she declares that all she wants is to find Galaxy and go home. Galaxy has been turned into Vulpecula’s pawn and galaxy begs Hawkgirl to kill her, which Hawkgirl refuses to do. Aesop, the spirit of the Nth World, contains Vulpecula and tells Hawkgirl that the explosion that brought her here has damaged the borders between dimensions and will take the sacrifice of millions to fix it. Hawkgirl offers herself and her many lives up. She sacrifices those lives and is made the Knight of Nth World, where she is also given an Nth metal weapon that she can mentally change into any shape she likes. She and Galaxy return to their friends and celebrate new beginnings.

JAY GARRICK: THE FLASH #3 by Jeremy Adams and Diego Olortegui. In 1941, the Justice Society search through the secret lab, only to be attacked by Doctor Elemental. As the team finds themselves losing, Judy arrives from the future, which saves the JSA but allows Doctor Elemental to escape. In the here and now, Mister Terrific decides that the Ro-Bear, and potentially Doctor Elemental, is because Judy is now back in the world after having been lost for so long. Fairplay and Quiz Kid use a device they created to probe Judy’s mind, as she had actually seen the true face of Doctor Elemental. The device pulls forth an image and it reveals that Doctor Elemental is Professor Hughes: the man responsible for Jay becoming The Flash.
