DC UNIVERSE Month 64, Part 2

KNIGHT TERRORS SPECIAL EDITION (FCBD 2023) by Joshua Williamson, Chris Bachalo and Howard Porter. Damian has a dream about his parents and his friends, but that turns into a nightmare. When he wakes, Batman visits him, but that is also part of the nightmare. When he finally convinces himself to wake up, he finds himself with his father and learns they had just captured Firefly and Killer Moth. To be continued in the KNIGHT TERRORS event.

MULTIVERSITY: HARLEY SCREWS UP THE DCU #3 by Frank Tieri and Logan Faerber. Harley has gone to Krypton and accidentally killed baby Kal-El, coming to Earth and being adopted by a couple from Kansas. With Superman erased, the pair head back to krypton again, where they act as nannies for Kal-El. Lara finds the pair and they explain they are here investigating a terrible case of Space Diarrhea, which convinces Lara to put Kal-El on the space ship. Next up, after explaining how she accidentally killed Barry Allen before he could become The Flash, the pair go to fix that and do, but with The Flash now smelling like monkey urine. Meanwhile, the Starros have access to a time machine and no one is safe.

NIGHTWING #104 by Tom Taylor, C.S. Pacat, Daniel Hor, and Travis Moore. Nightwing, with the amazing power given to him by Neron, sets about to help his teammates, while also trying to be as much like Superman as he can be.  Still trying to protect Blackbuster’s daughter, his powers run out and Neron has a proposal: keep the powers and give him the girl. He declines, using his “magic sticks” to send Neron back to Hell. Olivia is taken in by the Amazons for training and decides on the superhero name of Nightbuster. In Hell, Neron is visited by Raven, who turns him over to Blaze, who notices that part of her seems missing. In the backup, the mysterious bomber is found and all 13 of the bombs he has placed are handled. In the end, Jon uses his powers to correct a crooked carnival game and walks off with the prizes.

POISON IVY #12 by G. Willow Wilson and Marcio Takara. After the encounter at the retreat, Ivy becomes one again with the green, even as her body fights the infection. Later, she works on an antidote to save the women from the retreat who have all been infected by the wild Lamia. With almost all injected with the antidote, Janet and Ivy head back to Gotham, where they discover that the infection is still growing along the route. In the end, Harley and Ivy are finally reunited.

STATIC: SHADOWS OF DAKOTA #4 by Nikolas Draper-Ivey and Vita Ayala. Static encounters the bogeyman and gets a taste of his powers. In the end, Virgil returns home to find that the authorities found Quincy and he is dead.

SHAZAM #1 by Mark Waid and Dan Mora. Billy Batson, in his superhero persona, saves a young dinosaur and reunites him with a family of interstellar dinos that crash landed in the Yucatan Peninsula, eventually helping them get back home. Later, while relaxing in the clubhouse he has created inside the Rock of Eternity, he gets a visit from Freddy Freeman. With the world of magic changed by the Lazarus event, the pair try to readjust to their life as kids. Billy has even started a sponsored fancast where he reports about “The Captain’s adventures. When he learns of a devastating earthquake in Southern California, The Captain heads out to help. While he is being hugged by someone he rescued, he snaps and insults her and all the other spectators…live on television. Could this have something to do with the mysterious strangers seen inside the Rock of Eternity?

SPIRIT WORLD #1 by Alyssa Wong and Haining. Xanthe Zhou is a Spirit Envoy who saves a little girl from a flood in Gotham City’s Chinatown. When she goes home, she finds a visitor in the form of john Constantine. She tells Constantine that she needs to find a way back to the spirit world to save Batgirl, who ended up there during LAZARUS PLANET: DARK FATE. In the spirit world, Batgirl finds herself chased by hungry sprits who are trying to devour her. In the process, she gets taken in by Po Po and Bowen. Meanwhile, Xanthe and Constantine, after fighting The Collective, find a gate and pursue The Collective. But that trip ends abruptly when Xanthe is reunited with a mother she has not seen in fifteen years.

STARGIRL: THE LOST CHILDREN #6 by Geoff Johns and Todd Nauck. Stargirl fights Hourman and the Childminder, with Hourman aging Courtney 50 years so he can rejuvenate Childminder. Corky and the forgotten heroes arrive to join the fight, with Corky reviving Courtney. As Corky is about to save everyone, his older self, now a Time Master, arrives and explains that Corky stole the heroes and wants to send back the one that  keeps the world from being destroyed. Childmider reverts back to an unborn being in an egg in the process, Hourman is restored and the older Corky, , the one who reprogrammed Hourman, is sent back into the time portal. Wing is sent back into the time portal so he can destroy the Nebula Man, even though it will result in his death.  All of the lost children, except for Wing, come back to present day at their youthful ages. The Seven Soldiers of Victory reform and pay tribute to Wing, now known as the Unknown Soldier of Victory. And Jay Garrick gets to me his daughter. In the end, Corky deals with having to do the right thing, even if it cost Wing his life.

SUPERBOY: THE MAN OF TOMORROW #2 by Kenny Porter and Jahnoy Linsay. Superboy battles The Cosmoteers and is captured by them. The team heads off to attack Dominator x’s research lab with less than spectacular results. Superboy frees himself and join the cause., even as the Khunds get involved. With a power up, Superboy leads the attack.

SUPERMAN #4 by Joshua Williamson and Jamal Campbell. Clark meets with Lex, who explains that, when younger, he encountered Dr. Pharm and Graft. Superman finds their deserted lab and Lex realizes it’s a trap. Too late, he encounters Silver banshee, who has been corrupted by Pharm and Graft. During their battle, they cross paths with Jimmy, who confesses that he loves her.

TIM DRAKE: ROBIN #9 by Meghan Fitzmartin and Nikola Cizmesija. Batwoman frees herself from the clutches of the leader of the Chaos monsters and professes her innocence. Robin and Batwoman go to visit Bernard, who refuses to tell them about his experience with the Chaos monsters. Robin and her brawl, as she tells him that he can’t protect his boyfriend. Later, Robin goes to visit Batwoman but is attacked by the Chaos monsters.

TITANS #1 by Tom Taylor and Nicola Scott. Flash races off on the Cosmic treadmill after saying goodbye to his family. Elsewhere, Dick is trying to build his Titans team and Garth, who turns the invite down. With his team assembled, featuring Nightwing, Cyborg, Donna Troy, Gar, Starfire and raven, Titans Tower is opened. Gar and Raven have a telepathic conversation that results in a very public kiss. Oracle advises them of a category 5 event and they transport to fight Titano. Peacemaker arrives during the fight and wants to kill Titano but Nightwing objects and the Titans take the giant ape down. Peacemaker tells them that the President wants them to work for the government but is turned down. Back at the Tower, they discover a dead Wally West and realize they have a crime scene to process.

THE UNSTOPPABLE DOOM PATROL #3 by Dennis Culver and Chris Burnham. Robotman and Negative Man, with a a Meta who has been compromised by Starro, find themselves fleeing from Green Lanterns Kyle Rayner and Guy Gardner. The Lanterns eventually catch up with the trio but are called away by a false message sent to the Lanterns by Starbro. Later, in Haiti, Mr. Droo gets a mysterious package and exclaims that he and his men have been recruited for war.

THE VIGIL #1 by Ram V and Lalit Kumar Sharma. Nia Saha meets with Dr. Sankaran. She has been tasked by the mysterious Mr. Lightless to observe the operation of The Vigil.  The team boards a ship that has been overtaken by pirates. One by one, they take out the pirates, eventually finding am ionic long-wave neuro-oscillatory transmitter. In the end, In the end, Rathi, the man Sankaran replaced, is tortured by a curious man looking for everything he knows about Mr. Lightless.

WE ARE LEGENDS #1 by Alyssa Wong, Ram V, greg Pak, Haining, Lalit Kumar Sharma, and Minkyu Jung. Xanthe and Batgirl Cassandra cain battle Goeng-Si in a graveyard. But, even with Constantine’s help, Batgirl is taken by a Collective to the Sirit World. Continued in SPIRIT WORLD #1. In the second tale, Red Hood follows some missing Lazarus Resin to a ship leaving Gotham. Once on the ship, he encounters The Vigil. Continued in THE VIGIL #1. In the final tale, City Boy encounters Nightwing and returns an old tiara to an elderly woman. Continued in CITY BOY #1.

WILDC.A.T.S #7 by Matthew Rosenberg, Danny Kim, and Christian Duce. Ladytron appears to be in trouble with Marlowe and the rest of Halo. But she later kidnaps Voodoo, bringing her to members of the teams including Spartan, who is now Michael cray, and Zannah and Caitlin, who are supposed to be dead. She is told that Waller was responsible for the bomb that killed The Void and that Grifter is bouncing from world to world, including fighting with the Seven Soldiers of Victory, battling with vampires and sitting in Kammandi’s world. Grifter is not dead, but keeps moving through different stages in time and space. During one of his trips, he is kidnapped and delivered to Helspont and his Daemonite followers. He also ends up in the Dceased Universe, where he is rescued by Damian Wayne and his team, which also includes Cole’s brother Max. later, Cole is told that, to save this world, they need to save The Void.

WONDER WOMAN #799 by Becky Cloonan, Michael W. Conrad, Alitha Martinez, Mark Morales, Meghan Hetrick, Juan Ferreyra, Terry Dodson, Rachel Dodson and Paulina Ganucheau. Etta dreams of her first meeting with Wonder Woman during a picnic, where Diana is attacked by Cheetah, who is upset she did not get invited to the picnic. Siggy takes a bath and dreams of he and Diana fighting together to stop Ragnarok. Steve Trevor dreams of meeting Diana during a World War II air battle. On Themyscrira, Io dreams of Diana too. But Diana seems to be the worst of all of them as she won’t wake up at all.

 

DC UNIVERSE Month 64, Part 1

ACTION COMICS #1055 by Phillip Kennedy Johnson, Dan Jurgens, Dorado Quick, Rafa Sandoval, Lee Weeks, and Yasmin Flores Montanez. The Super Family, along with Metallo, take on Henshaw and his creations as they search for Tracy Corben. Unsuccessful, they head to the Fortress of Solitude where Clark reactivates The Eradicator, who leads them to Henshaw. They find him and Tracy, who has been tuned into a version of Metallo and she cannot control her powers. In the second tale, Lois helps Clark temporarily defeat Doombreaker. She shows him the message left by Glyanna, who says she will free Jon if Clark helps her put down the revolution on her planet. In the third tale, John Henry Irons makes his sales pitch regarding Steelworks. In the end, Mr. terrific meets with Irons, telling him that Steel messed up.

ADVENTURES OF SUPERMAN: JON KENT #3 by Tom Taylor and Clayton Henry. Jon awakes inside a Hall of Justice, where he encounters this world’s Superman, Wonder Woman, Flash and Lex Luthor. Flash informs them of attacks on the barracks in Gotham and Star City, causing Superman and Wonder Woman to head out. In Gotham, Damian confronts his father, which is interrupted by Jon. Damian, apparently super-powered, takes down Jon and his father, although Bruce gets away. Superman reveals that there was an accident where Dick Grayson died, with Bruce blaming Damian and being disowned by him. Later, Jon tours the world and saves a child, understanding that the citizens fear Superman

BATGIRLS #18 by Becky Cloonan and Michael Conrad. The girls continue to investigate the mysterious sniper. Officer later gets a data drive from a disguised Barbara Gordon. At Clover Credit Union, Alyssa finds herself in danger as armed robbers but uses her ability, with some hidden help from Stephanie, to take them down and free herself and the other hostage. Later, they learn that the batgirls have allegedly turned themselves in. In the end, Grace leads a protest demanding that the police free the Batgirls.

BATMAN #135 by Chip Zdarsky, Mike Hawthorne, Jorge Jimenez, and Mikel Janin. With Gotham in flames, an injured Batman creates a replacement hand to reveal the one he lost. Red Mask uses his device to view the birth of The Joker. Meanwhile, Selina and her team try to quell the riot and save people from the gas. Batman faces off against Punchline and Red Mask, who has decided his job is to create Jokers. Red Mask is injured by Batman’s new claw hand and jumps into the Multiverse. Batman follows, moving through the Batman 89 universe, where he meets himself. As Red Mask continues to move through the Multiverse, Batman follows, moving through all the various Batman incarnations, including Kingdom Come, Batman 66, Batman Beyond and more. In the Dark Knight Multiverse, this Bruce Wayne gives him a new hand before Batman ends up at the end of the Multiverse where The Joker is a giant space shark.. Using Bat Shark Repellant, he defeats both the shark and Red Mask. Tim arrives after his long journey to find Bruce and brings him home.

BATMAN INCORPORATED #8 by Ed Brisson and John Timms. Dr. Wu is dead, Skyspoider is gone and Ghost-Maker blames Bat-Man of China. Bat-Man of China reveals that Alpaca, who was responsible for this, is his sister. Meanwhile, Charles sits by his father’s bedside and tells Jiro to find the person who shot him. Nightrunner tries to stop a hostage taking in Paris, leading to him to ask for assistance. In London, a prsion has been broken into and Dai Laffyn has disappeared, leaving behind a dead guard bearing the trademark smile of a Joker attack. In Tokyo, Ghost-Maker and El Gaucho find The Joker, who reveals his own team known as Joker Incorporated. He calls Tap Dance Man, who has hostages of his own.

BATMAN/SUPERMAN: WORLD’S FINEST #15 by Mark Waid and Dan Mora. Underneath the Allegheny Mountains, our heroes face off against Ultramorpho, who is using his Kryptonite powers to injure Superman until Metamorpho arrives to lend a hand. Also arriving is Batman, encased in an armor made from the Metal Men. Things go badly and Robin is injured, meaning the Metal Men leave the fight to save Robin. Robin calls the Teen Titans for help, but they are facing their own version of the robot uprising. Meanwhile, in Washington, D.C., the Doom Patrol encounters Mekanique, who is controlling the townspeople. In Colorado, the Challengers of the Unknown face off against Ultivac.. Batman and Superman find themselves captured, along with robot masters Magnus, Dr. Cyber, the Bug-Eyed Bandit and Toyman: all captured by Newmazo. Robin reaches out to Supergirl, who is battling Chemo. But the Batmobile has been compromised and it may cost Robin his life.

BATMAN: THE BRAVE AND THE BOLD #1 by Tom King, Ed Brisson, Christopher Cantwell, Dan Mora, Mitch Gerads, Jeff Sppokes, and Javier Rodriguez. A little girl named Helen is lost but meets with a strange man, who is revealed to be The Joker. Meanwhile, a man named Claridge dies at midnight and breaks into a smile at his death. The Joker returns Helen to her father and then kills him. In the second tale, a new Stormwatch team, led by Bones and consisting of Ravager, Shado, Flint, Winter, Core, and Dr. Xanto Zema, go on their first mission: breaking into Iron Heights to free Huskk. But a Time Storm bomb is reveased that endangers the mission, leading to Core saving the team. In the third tale, Superman investigates a ring belonging to the Order of the Black Lamp. In the last tale, a future/alternate Batman battles The Joker, eventually finding a pair of brothers: Jason and Richard.

BLACK ADAM  #11 by Christopher Priest and Eddy Barrows Malik observes Theo kissing Jasmin, who has actually been possessed by the goddess Ishtar. Adam battles Hergal and then Ibac Elsewhere, Malik saves his niece from an explosion that destroys their apartment, leading him to battle Sargon Adam comes to help but Sargon steals Adam’s powers and has seemingly assimilated the hero. .

CATWOMAN #55 by Tini Howard and Nico Leon. Selina and Eiko team up against the crime lords before fleeing. Meanwhile, Dario agrees to have a fight to the death with Noah. After some training, Catwoman takes Dario, in disguise, to see his father, laying down rules to the Don. He calls Black Mask and they agree that it’s time to get their own hands dirty.

CITY BOY #1 by Greg Pak and Minkyu Jung. Many years ago, the future hero City Boy came across an experiment and found himself transformed into someone who could access the living consciousness of the city. Now grown up, Cameron comes across a homeless man and finds himself involved with Boss Chung, who demands that Cameron steal for him to save the life of the beggar. When he comes up short on the amount Chung wants, he slits the man’s throat, which only serves to enrage our hero.

CYBORG #1 by Morgan Hampton and Tom Raney. Giz and Mammoth have a plan, but that’s get thwarted by Cyborg. He gets called to meet with Sarah who confesses that she knew Victor was back in Detroit and never told his father before he died. He goes to his father’s funeral and, after the ceremony, Marcus invites Vic to visit his company called Solace. Back home, Vic gets visited by a robot that may actually be his father.

DANGER STREET #6 by Tom King and Jorge Fornes. Warlord is in a hospital and Lady Cop watches over him. After a trip to the morgue, she ends up back in her office and sees a plate on the back of Dr. fate’s helmet. It says The Green Team. Meanwhile, Manhunter chases after Abdul, but he escapes. He tries to access funds, but is locked out. Calling Commodore, he learns that he has been cut loose from The Green Team.Abdul goes to the only place he feels safe: The Outsiders. Orion returns to Apokolips to inform High Father and Darkseid that he found Atlas’ soul but could not retrieve it. In the end, Starman has been captured by the remaining Dingbats.

DAWN OF DC PRIMER #1 by Joshua Williamson and Leandra Fernandez. Amanda Waller has assembled a team, that is now questioning her actions. Meanwhile, Peacemaker secures the Helmet of Hate. Waller takes out one of her team, telling the rest they are tasked with giving pardons to those who kill superheroes.

THE FLASH #798 by Jeremy Adams, Fernando Pasarin, Oclair Albert, and Will Robson. Wally and Linda’s son Wade is born. As Wally and Mr. Terrific test Terrific’s Temporal device, Granny Goodness, disguised as a nurse, kidnaps Wade. Hourman arrives at Terrific’s and tells Wally about the kidnapping. While they decide what to do, Gold Beetle arrives and a team consisting of Wally, Gold Beetle, Wallace and Plastic Man, head off to get Wade back. In the process, Omega-bam-Bam arrives to join the team.

THE FLASH #799 by Jeremy Adams, Fernando Pasarin, and Oclair Albert. Part of the team makes it to Granny Goodness’ throne room while the rest have to compete against the Anti-Monitor Wally chases after Granny, who threatens using the Eternity Mind. But Wally defeats her, forcing her to flee. The team look after her captured children, including one who is determined to be Mr. Terrific’s son. The team heads home but it’s obvious that it took longer than expected, as Wally is sporting a full beard, with promises to tell Linda the whole story in the future.

GREEN ARROW #2 by Joshua Williamson and Sean Izaakse. Ollie is stranded in Sector 867-5309, where he is fighting crime. Troublemaker is hired to take him out but Lian arrives and saves the day. Later, he explains that he cannot explain why they cannot go home and, as he explains how much he misses his family, she reminds him of his son Connor. Just when he gets a realization that he had a son, the pair are transported away again. Back on Eartrh, Roy and Dinah go on a hunt for Amanda Waller, which leads them into a confrontation with Peacemaker and Peacewrecker.

GREEN LANTERN #1 by Jeremy Adams and Xermanico. Hal Jordan is back on Earth and meets up with Carol Ferris, who explains that she has moved on and has a new boyfriend. Hal does some flying for Ferris on a simulator and does not do well. Not to mention, Sinestro is hiding in a bar and learns that Hal is back. In the backup, John Stewart is getting used to being home with his mother while guy has to contend with the Revenant Queen.

HARLEY QUINN # 30 by Tini Howard, Nicole Maines, Sweeney Boo, and Mindy Lee. Bud and Lou explain that, because Harley ended up with the Vropal Fish, Captain Carrot’s Zoo Crew is killed during their battle with Backseid. She realizes she needs to find a way to get to Earth-26 and get Captain Carrot his fish back. She reaches out to Dr. Fate for advice and that leads her to build her own version of the Cosmic Treadmill. She uses the treadmill and she meets with a destitute Captain Carrot, who compares her to The Joker as he mourns his friends. Back on Earth, Ivy comes home and sees that the plant she gave her girlfriend has been destroyed. In the backup, Harley dreams of being a knight who is tasked with waking a sleeping Ivy with a kiss. But, of course, she wakes before she gets to the good part!.

THE JOKER: THE MAN WHO STOPPED LAUGHING #8 by Matthew Rosenberg, Carmine Di Giandomenico and Francesco Francavilla. Underneath Gotham, The Joker saves a drowning Solomon Grundy. Later, The Joker tussles with Killer Croc. Above the city, Jason is being transferred to Blackgate when a disguised Barbara Gordon arrives and relays the situation to someone. Meanwhile, in Los Angeles, the other joker battles with Manhunter, but he stabs her with a broken bottle and flees. She catches up with him and that’s where Killer Moth gets involved. He’s here to kill this Joker, but the villain convinces Killer Moth to go with him back to Gotham to kill the other Joker.. he also offers him two million dollars to do the job. After handing two kids a live grenade, the pair, along with the very dead Mr. Waffles, hit the road back to Gotham.

JUSTICE SOCIETY OF AMERICA # 4 by Geoff Johns, Mikel Janin and Jerry Ordway. Deadman, Detective Chimp, and Madame Xanadu investigate the snow globe, which reveals various fates of JSA members, leading Xanadu to decide that they need to get the snow globe back to Helena before Degaton kills her. Elsewhere, Degaton attacks the JSA, but this time Helena severs his finger bearing the Kryptonite ring and Dr. fate sends him into the past. In 1947, Degaton meets his older self who tells his younger self that he needs to kill Helena to make his plan succeed. His plan is to perform a sacrificial ritual in order to replace the JSA with one of his own. Helena heads to  Gotham, where she meets her father and says she has come back in time to save his life.

DC UNIVERSE Month 63, Part 2

ICON VS. HARDWARE #2 by Reginald Hudlin, Leon Chills and Denys Cowan. Curtis Metcalf is arrested for killing Alva. On trial, it is revealed that bullets fired at Metcalf were deflected by hardware, resulting in Alva’s death, which exonerates Metcalf. Running Alva Industries, Q Juice is developed and an unfortunate accident occurs in Sadaqah. The President enlists Metcalf to produce it for the armed forces. Icon gets involved in an effort to stop the war and that brings him into conflict with both versions of Hardware. Present day Hardware explains that he did what he did to prevent Q Juice being used and developing the Bang Babies in the process. Hardware goes back in time and encounters someone who is also currently encountering Raquel....and his name is Vandal Savage.

POISON IVY #11 by G. Willow Wilson and Marcio Takara. Everyone at the conference are now infected with Lamia and Ivy uses it to try to block access to an oil refinery, almost getting everyone killed in the process. After sharing a kiss with Janet -from-HR,  she decides she needs to change. But Gwendolyne threatens a lawsuit and suddenly changes into a monster.

THE JOKER: THE MAN WHO STOPPED LAUGHING #7 by Matthew Rosenberg, Ryan Cady, Carmine Di Giandomenico and Will Robson. The Joker battles Manhunter and appears to lose until Manhunter is hit by the police car driven by gang member Waffles. In Gotham, Jason is being transferred to Blackgate. High in the sky, Mr. Sprang decides to make a hasty exit from the plane he is riding in. Under Gotham, the other Joker is being tended to by Solomon Grundy. Back in L.A., Manhunter catches up with the police car containing The Joker and captures him, attempting to drown him in the L.A.  River.

LAZARUS PLANET: REVENGE OF THE GODS #3 by G. Willow Wilson, Becky Cloonan, Michael Conrad, Emanuela Lupacchino,Cian Tormey, Alitha Martinez. Washinton D.C. is in ruins and Diana weeps. Cheetah finds her and Diana wonders how they can fight all the Gods at once. Billy Batson is still captive on Olympus and grows weaker each time he tries to use his powers. Hecate arrives with Yara and they free Billy and make their way back to Washington, joining Diana’s forces against the Gods. That is when the mysterious hooded man arrives and reveals himself as Ares, the God of war. Continued in WONDER WOMAN #798. In the backup, the Amazons continue their battle with the army of the dead. LAZARUS PLANET: REVENGE OF THE GODS #4 by G. Willow Wilson, Becky Cloonan, Michael W. Conrad, Josier Campbell, Cian Tormey, Alitha Martinez, and Caitlin Yarsky. A super powered Diana battles and defeats Hera. When she returns to Olympus, the Wizard declares Hera unworthy and bans her from Olympus because of all she has done. The spirit of Hippolyta helps the Amazons defeat their enemies and peace returns to Themyscira. In the aftermath, the Wizard and Hippolyta grant the powers of the Gods to Billy and Mary, meaning the powers of Shazam live in them again. To be continued in SHAZAM #1.

MULTIVERSITY: HARLEY SCREWS UP THE DCU #2 by Frank Tieri and Logan Faerber. The other Harley tells our Harley that Starro has taken over this world and she speaks from experience, as she bears the scars. Because of what Harley had done because of her time travelling, all of the Justice League got “Harley’d out of existence”. They get attacked by the Starro infected people and Harley goes ballistic, killing as many as possible. Eventually, the pair reach the time machine and leave. What they don’t know is that the Starro’s have their own time machine and they have already conquered time itself.

NIGHTWING #103 by Tom Taylor, C.S. Pascat, Travis Moore, Vasco Georgiev, and Eduardo Pansica. Raven, Nightwing, Cyborg and Beast Boy travel to Hell while Batgirl, Donna Troy and Starfire take Olivia to Themyscira, where Wonder Woamn is going to teach her how to fight. Neron has an interaction with Blaze and beats her down. The team finds her and she directs them to Neron’s tower, with Beast Boy disguised as one of Hell’s denizens and the team as his prisoners. Once inside, Cyborg gets into Neron’s computer and discovers that Olivia’s mother was Jezebel Jet. Neron visits the Grinning Man in prison, who tells him Olivia is in Themyscira. During Olivia’s training, Wonder Woman is revealed to be the Grinning Man and he is there with Gorilla Grodd and Doctor Polaris. Neron meets with Nightwing, who tells him that he is now Olivia’s legal guardian. But Neron tries to tempt the former Boy Wonder with all the powers to change the world. In the backup, the son of the woman who runs the show reveals himself as the person who cut the rope, in hopes that he would not have to continue as a performer and live a normal life. But that does not answer who planted the bomb, meaning the investigation continues.

STATIC: SHADOWS OF DAKOTA #3 by Nikolas Draper-Ivey and Vita Ayala. The Blood Syndicate loses some members to the ‘Dark Man’. Virgil and his family try to work through some issues, with him feeling he needs to be the hero in Dakota. In the end, Quincy meets with a stranger who may pose a threat in the future.

SUPERBOY: THE MAN OF TOMORROW #1 by Kenny Porter and Jahnoy Linsay. Connor goes off into space after looking for distress signals to answer. It takes him to Planet Dragoi, where the Dominators are attacking. He battles the alien team of invaders but, in the end, he may have to find a new team, in the form of the Cosmoteers.

SUPERMAN #3 by Joshua Williamson and Jamal Campbell. Superman and much of Metropolis, have been corrupted by the Parasites, leading to him ending up with Luthor, where they use Livewire’s powers to free Superman from Parasite’s hold on him. Superman meets with Rudy, who absorbs all of the tiny Parasites and gets so filled he passes out. Later, Superman and Lois discuss the possibilities of him joining Supercorp. He meets with ;Luthor, thanks him for helping to save Rudy and gifts him a Superman signal watch, agreeing to work with Supercorp. In the end, the secret cabal is looking for a new subject in the form of the Silver Banshee.

TIM DRAKE: ROBIN #8 by Meghan Fitzmartin and Nikola Cizmesija. Batwoman crashes on the deck of Tim’s boat. Her memory is mostly gone, only recalling going to sleep and coming face-to-face with a monster. They head to Gotham and find a battle going on between Detective Williams and the Chaos monsters. Along the way, Batwoman encounters one of the leaders and Sparrow is stabbed and may be dying. Who does Tim save: Batwoman or Sparrow?

THE UNSTOPPABLE DOOM PATROL #2 by Dennis Culver and Chris Burnham. Worm is taken to Doom Patrol’s headquarters, where she meets Flex Metallo. While Chief visits Niles, Robotman visits Dorothy Spinner’s grave. Later, Peacemaker contacts Worm, saying that there is a job to be done or they will blow the chip in Worm’s head. Velvet snoops around the headquarters and sees that Niles is looking to bring Mento back to life again. Worm decides to not continue his mission and Peacemaker sets off the bomb, but the heroes have temporarily jammed the signal. Worm asks the team to care for velvet and flies off, being killed as the jam no longer protects him. Peacemaker reveals that Worm was not the metahuman, Velvet is and that means they have a spy on the premises.

WILDC.A.T.S #6 by Matthew Rosenberg, Stephen Segovia and Tom Derenick. Clark Kent meets with Marlowe, questioning him about Halo’s business practices. Elsewhere, Cole shows up and meets with Max, which is quite the feat considering he was dead. He tells her that he needs to have a chat with Halliday. Fairchild and Zealot join up with Warblade and Backlash, where they burst into a warehouse and are attacked by robots controlled by Toyman, who explains that Halo recruited him and faked his death, allowing them to build Halo’s robots. Things get crazy when Zealot is given the choice of being with Halo or against them, leading to a fight with the other team members. Later, Zealot on Fairchild meet with Spartan, who is actually now inhabited by Deathblow. Cole meets with Adrianna and kills her. But she begins to glow and Cole thinks he may have made a big mistake.

WONDER WOMAN #798 by Becky Cloonan, Michael W. Conrad, Josie Campbell, Amancay Nahuelpan, and Caitlin Yarsky.Diana and Shazam meet with Ares in the middle of a destroyed Washington D.C., where he suggests that they team up to take down Hera. With the rest of the team in tow, including Cheetah, Siggy, Yara and Mary Marvel, Diana faces off with Hera, being soundly defeated in the process. Mary utters that magic word and transfers her power to Diana. With the rest of the team in jeopardy, a transformed Diana reappears to take the fight to Hera. In the backup, a powerless Mary is met by Diana, who gives her three gifts to once again give her some sort of power. With that new power she battles and defeats Typhon, eventually joining Diana. Both stories are continued in LAZARUS PLANET: REVENGE OF THE GODS. #4.

DC UNIVERSE Month 63, Part 1

ACTION COMICS #1054 by Phillip Kennedy Johnson, Dan Jurgens, Dorado Quick, Yasmin Flores Montanez, and Max Raynor. Otho has attacked someone she was convinced was going to attack others. People think he’s an unfortunate civilian but he turns out to be one of Metallo’s drone. Jon and the Super Twins battle them and eventually Superman joins in. Metallo captures the twins. Superman defeats him, convincing Metallo that he will find his sister. It turns out his sister is being held captive by…Cyborg Superman, who threatens to use her for his next experiment. In the second story, Jon and Glyanna crash land and are menaced by Killamek. But it turns out that Glyanna is the villain of the piece as she captures Jon and insists that she will make Superman do whatever she wants. Meanwhile, Lois and Clark face Doombreaker. In the final tale, John Henry Irons reminisces on his first meeting with Superman during the Reign of Supermen while also battling Amalgam. In the end, some shadowy figure is taking an interest in the hero.

ADVENTURES OF SUPERMAN: JON KENT #2 by Tom Taylor and Clayton Henry. Jon, along with President Superman and Red Tornado, go on a hunt for Ultraman, who is continuing to kill off all the Clark Kent’s in the Multiverse. They encounter him, with Ultraman smashing Red Tornado and sending she and President Superman into the Phantom Zone. The pair battle and then Ultraman has his neck broken by another Clark Kent/Superman, who tells Jon he has his mother’s eyes.

BATGIRLS #17 by Becky Cloonan and Michael Conrad. With things back to normal, the Batgirls decide to have a good time. Nbut an explosion and gunfire injures Grace O’Halloran’s cameraman. Distraught, Grace meets with Hill’s Angels to secure a gun: a meet broken up by Steph.A sniper attacks the group in the cementary with Steph saving them. Cass pursues the shooter, only finding an empty room with six bullets…one for each Batgirl.

BATMAN #134 by Chip Zdarsky, Mike Hawthorne, and Adriano Di Benedetto. Batman continues his pursuit of Red Mask, who is revealed to be Darwin Halliday., who has already captured this world’s Lex Luthor and Barry Allen. He reveals he wants to become this world’s version of The Joker.As Red Mask flees, Batman contacts Jewel, telling her that Red Mask is going to unleash poison gas throughout the city. As he attempts to get out of the sewer, he encounters this world’s Ghostmaker and also Superman. Batman uses his voice to convince Superman to flee. In the streets of the city, the “Crane Brain” gas is affecting people and Selina helps to stop the police from beating up rioters. Batman battles Ghostmaker and manages to shut off the dispersing of the gas, so Red Mask unleashes the Leatherwings: an army turned into Man bats. In the backup, Robin, still searching for Batman, is sent back into the Bleed, where he meets a version of his mother.

BATMAN INCORPORATED #7 by Ed Brisson and Michele Bandini. Ghostmaker and El Gaucho find the holding cells of the captured villains. The rest of the team takes on Professor Pyg and his Dollotrons. They subdue the team so Pyg’s Dollotrons can take Mother away. But when Chuck threatens that everyone goes free or Mother will be cut to sawdust with a chainsaw, the villain backs off. The villains are turned over to Nightwing and the Bat Family, who arrange for them to go to Blackgate. In the end, Chuck talks to his father by phone for what may be the last time as someone named Dusty Bronco shoots the father and kills him.

BATMAN/SUPERMAN: WORLD’S FINEST #14 by Mark Waid and Dan Mora. With Bruce free on bail, Metamorpho is on the loose, taking out his enemies one by one. Superman and Robin head off to Venezuela to track him down, where he is battling El Mantanzas and his robot army. Once there, the super team subdues El Mantanzas and talks some sense into Metamorpho. Later, Bruce, doing detective work in the Batcave, calls Clark at Stagg’s service and tells him that many billionaires have been replaced. Clark uses his x-ray vision to determine Stagg is not Stagg and is actually an android duplicate. That sends Superman and Robin to pay a visit to Professor Ivo, who claims his androids are there for Robin. He unleashes an android that can turn into any element…including Kryptonite. Meanwhile, Batman and Metamorpho pay a visit to Magnus Robotics, where they find that the Metal Men have been turned molten.

BLACK ADAM  #10 by Christopher Priest and Jose Luis. Jasmin is visited by, and taken over, by Love, who apparently thinks Jasmin is Ishtar. Adam meets with Malik, telling him a story of how he once had been profiled by police. Later, he meets with Oni Grace and her friend Stanley, who turns out to be Ibac. The pair battle and Ibac is taken down with the help of Malik. While War meets with folks at the Sanheoli Embassy, telling them that they should declare was on Khandaq, Malike and Adam return home, where Adam kisses Jasmin, which seriously upsets Malik.

BLUE BEETLE: GRADUATION DAY #6 by Josh Trujillo and Adrian Gutierrez. The final battle begins with Jaime realizing the Hroizon is not sending out a warning but a distress signal. After saving the Horizon ship and the occupants, jaine gives them an offer: stay in Palmera City.

CATWOMAN #54 by Tini Howard and Nico Leon. Selina has a meeting with the Queen of Hearts, who reveals she wants to have a meeting with Catwoman, who she heard was locked up in this prison. Selina and Marquise craft a plan, with Marquise stabbing herself in the neck. The doctors later say she died, but Marquise is still alive and meets with Punchline, promising her that she will take the villain to Catwoman. Marquise meets with Selina, telling her Punchline is here and Selina reveals herself to Marquise as Catwoman. Punchline and Catwoman brawl, with Selina insisting the two should work together. In the process a riot breaks out as does an escape by the inmates. In the end, Punchline has reached out to the criminals and says she and Catwoman are working together. Catwoman arrives at the meeting of the crime heads and now Eiko has to make a choice.

DANGER STREET #5 by Tom King and Jorge Fornes. Orion battles Starman while Warlord digs up Good Look’s coffin. Manhunter visits Starmaker, with plans to kill him, but he changes those plans … for now, returning later and killing him.  Lady Cop goes to investigate the earth-shattering battle between Starman and Orion but runs into Warlord…literally, causing the coffin to fly from the wreckage. The leader of the Green team sends Assassin out to kill the surviving boys. And Jack Ryder meets with Batman, telling him to go back to his cave.

DETECTIVE COMICS #1071 by Ram V, Simon Spurrier, Stefano Raffaele, Ivan Reis, Eduardo Pansica, and Caspar Wijngaard. Talia tells more of the history of the Orghams. Meanwhile, Vandal Savage forcibly takes the stone from Amenah. In the backup, Annabel is freed by the child and she castigates Mr. Freeze, who ultimately admits the machine is not for Nora, but for himself. As Annabel and the boy leave, Freeze seals himself up in his lab and finally discovers the font of pure energy he has been looking for. It’s Arkham.

THE FLASH #796 by Jeremy Adams and Roger Cruz. Wally is alive and on Planet Flash, where this team led by Gold Beetle is going to help him get back to the battle against The Fraction. The Planet Flash team arrives and battles The Fraction while Barry and his team put their plan into play. Admiral vel kills all of his soldiers and gets locked away into one of the batteries. The world gets unstuck again and time is reversed, meaning everyone is still alive except Max Mercury, including Iris, who Barry professes his love for. While everyone enjoys a barbeque, Max and Impulse race off in search of what’s next in their lives

THE FLASH #797 by Jeremy Adams, Serg Acuna and Tom Derenick. In a tale taking place during the end of THE FLASH 2022 ANNUAL, Wallace picks up Jai, irey, and Maxine from school. But the kids get apprehended by Knives Maroney, who has assembled a team made up of Dr. nightmare, Reverse Grodd, Mineral Man, Foul Play, and Heat Wave Jr. Knives has taken possession of the Eternity Mind. As things look bleak, the Super Sons arrive to lend a hand. Wallace finally arrives and they work together to stop Knives and his team. In the end, they all transport home, but the Eternity mind is left behind and picked up by Granny Goodness.

GREEN ARROW #1 by Joshua Williamson and Sean Izaakse. Oliver Queen is stranded in a strange, alien place. Meanwhile, Connor, Roy, and Dinah are fighting crime and get help from Chershire Cat. As Chershire cat leaves, Roy tells her that he recognizes her as his long-lost daughter Lian. During the tearful reunion, Connor and Lian are transported away. Lian finds herself being attacked by manhunters but is saved by Green Arrow and his chainsaw arrow. He takes her to a transporter and then destroys it, saying they can never go home again.

HARLEY QUINN # 29 by Tini Howard, Adam Warren, and Sweeney Boo. Harley calls on Zatanna, asking her for help to get the fish back to captain carrot and deal with Lady Quark. Zatanna casts a spell, but tells her that Harley will have to sacrifice something alive for the interdimensional protection to work. She debates what to do and, after speaking with Batman, decides to sacrifice the Ivy plant. That’s when Bud and Lou finally reveal themselves as aliens who will be her guide. In the backup,  Bud and Lou take Harley on a dream inspired journey to some really dark places.
